1958 Chevy pickup: short box, stepside, original straight six and 3 speed on the column. The truck does not run and would make a great hotrod project, or restore. All mechancial components are there, I can find nothing missing. Previous owner said it hasnt run in a couple years. My plan was to put V8 and automatic transmission so I never even attempted to get the truck running. I figured this was a neat enough old truck that someone should either get it running with original engine, or just pick their own engine trans combo and do the truck they want, so I am selling it as a roller. The body is extremely solid, I usually see rust in steps, front fenders (lower part behind wheel), and rockers. The rockers are solid, zero rust. the fenders are solid zero rust. The steps have surface rust only. The inside floor has surface rust only. I sanded some of the surface rust down to show how solid the metal is inside the cab. I will be adding photos of this and photos of the back side of fenders, and rockers and so forth. This truck is actually in amazing condition. I replaced the driver side door hinges with brand new hinges, the old ones were worn out. The passenger side hinges are in excellent shape and do not need replaced. The doors line up good, the hood and fenders line up, the hood hinges are good, (usually they are sprung). The rear tailgate is nearly flawless, the only area that needs body work, is a couple dents on driver rear fender. All the glass is good except the passenger door wing window needs replaced. The windows roll up and down nice and easy. all the door handles and cranks are installed, dash is uncut, bench seat is in excellent condition. The color is and off white cream color with original patina. I personally would just leave the exterior exactly the way it is, it looks better in person, the photos do not do it justice. Its just a neat looking patina old truck. Any questions call Mitch at 406-871 4269. On Mar-12-13 at 22:26:19 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had numerous people asking if the truck runs or if ive tried to start it. I stated in the description that it is a roller, non running. But it got me interested in taking a look at it. So I drained the fuel tank, blew out the fuel lines, lubed the cylinders, and poured some gas in the carb. I had to put another coil on and it fired and ran! No knocking, or ticking, the motor sounds good. I had no key so I hot wired the coil I put on. I am going to put the coil on a switch for now and tune it up, new plugs, points, gaskets for the carb, and so on. So the new owner will have a head start on it if they want to go original or sell the six cylinder, and trans. Thanks for all your interest.
