WITH A GM CORPORATE 3.90 POSI AND A 4SPD TO BACK IT UP. THERE ALSO IS A PTO UNIT MOUNTED ON THE TRANS BUT NOT IN USE. 50S ERA FACTORY NAPCO GM 4X4 SUBURBANS JUST MADE HEMMINGS MOTOR NEWS TOP INVESTMENT PICK OF THE YEAR LIST ! A LITTLE HISTORY. THIS 1959 GMCs OWNERSHIP HAS NEVER LEFT THE AREA SINCE NEW. THE ORIGINAL OWNER PASSED AWAY SEVERAL YEARS AGO IN HIS 90S. HE USED THIS BURB STRICTLY FOR HUNTING. IT WAS THEN SOLD FROM HIS ESTATE TO A NEIGHBOR ON THE SAME RURAL STREET WHO OWNED IT FOR MANY MORE YEARS. IT HAS STILL NEVER LEFT THE AREA AS FAR AS OWNERSHIP. THE ORIGINAL 336 PONTIAC/GMC V8 GAVE UP THE GHOST IN ABOUT 1980. AT THAT TIME WORD OF A COMPLETELY REBUILT 389 CAME THRU THE LOCAL MACHINE SHOP. IT WAS ACQUIRED AND INSTALLED. HAND ME DOWN WORD AND A LOG WRITTEN ON THE LEFT DOOR PANEL HAS IT THAT THIS MOTOR HAS APPROXIMATELY 20K MILES ON IT SINCE THAT REBUILD. IT ACTS LIKE IT. TIGHT AND POWERFUL. THE MOTOR IS A CORRECT 49N CODE 1962 PONTIAC BONNEVILLE TRI POWER MOTOR. THE TRI POWER WAS REMOVED BEFORE IT WENT INTO THE BURB AND REPLACED WITH A MORE PRACTICAL FOR THE 4X4... 2BBL INTAKE AND CARB. IT STILL RETAINS THE BONNEVILLE HEADS. (3 carb setup long ago gone) THIS TRUCK HAS THE ORIGINAL SM420 TRUCK 4SPD. IT HAS AN ALUMINUM PONTIAC BELL HOUSING WITH A VERY NICE SMOOTH CLUTCH. IN THE REAR IT HAS A STOCK AND VERY RARE 3.90 CORPORATE EATON POSI UNIT. QUITE A SETUP. MORE TORQUE THAN IT KNOWS WHAT TO DO WITH AND POSI WITH SERIOUS TRACTION TIRES. BUILT FOR THE HUNT. ALSO IT HAS ADD ON NON ORIGINAL POWER ASSIST STEERING. ORIGINAL COLUMN AND STEERING BOX COMPLETE STILL INTACT AND IN USE. TRUCKS IN PRETTY FAIR SHAPE BUT ITS NOT PERFECT OR ANYWHERE NEAR. HAS SOME RUST AND LOOKS LIKE SOME LEAD. THE HINGE POCKETS ARE VERY NICE. IVE SEEN A WAY HECK OF LOT WORSE THAN THIS. *REMEMBER WE DONT SALT THE ROADS HERE IN OREGON SO RUSTFREE FRAMES ARE THE WAY IT IS HERE. ITS A GREAT CANDIDATE FOR A DRIVER OR A BUILDER IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A SHOW HORSE OUT OF HER. IT WOULDNT TAKE MUCH TOO MAKE A REAL NICE TRUCK OUT OF THIS ONE. IT ALSO HAS LOTS OF NICE CHROME. SOME OF IT NEW. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO NOTICED, THAT IS A FACTORY GMC GRILLE, AND ITS REALLY RARE. EVEN STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL FRONT FLOOR MAT PRETTY MUCH INTACT. TRUCK SHOULD HAVE ABOUT 130K MILES ON IT ACCORDING TO THE OWNER. WE CHANGED THE SPEEDO HEAD OUT BECAUSE THE LETTERS WERE GOING BAD ON THE FACE AND NOW ITS NOT WORKING. I WILL INCLUDE THE OLD ONE AND ALSO AN EXTRA RH DOOR AND ORIGINAL GENERATOR AND MOUNTING BRACKET ALSO, IF YOU WANT TO PUT IT BACK TO STOCK AS IT CURRENTLY HAS AN ALTERNATOR.
