Vehicle Detail

This is a 1998 Chevy Corvette. We bought it from our neighbor since it was the most beautiful corvette we had ever seen. Pictures do not do this car justice. Everywhere we go, people think it's only a year or two old due to the condition of the car. Features 5.7L LS1 V-8 Engine with 350 hp, automatic transmission, dual power lumbar seats, removable targa top, 18" front and 20" rear 5 spoke wheels with newer tires. Brand new seats were installed less than 2 months ago. Remote start through a top-notch Viper alarm is installed as well as a double-din Kenwood Deck with 2 amplifiers and a custom sub box in the trunk. There is only one scratch about an inch long on the entire car. You will not find a nicer C5 (1997-2004) Corvette anywhere, especially at this price. Before spending double this amount, come look at how beautiful this paint is. The car was kept garaged at all times and it shows. Seats were only replaced from the leather being worn on the lumbar areas when you slide into the car. The only problems are two minor fluid leaks. It has a very slight oil leak. Also the transmission fluid will leak slightly but only if you start it and immediately put in reverse. If you let it run for a minute before backing, it doesn't leak. I think it's the transmission pan gasket which didn't look hard to get to. If I had more time I would fix before shipping. Car has 143k miles but runs and drives perfectly. Just had oil change (500 miles ago) with Royal Purple. The Service Column Lock message came on and so the bypass has been done. If you haven't heard of the Service Column Lock issue with corvettes, I recommend you google it. This car has had the LMC-5 bypass installed; others you're looking at may not have had this done yet. But as stated on the web, "There are two kinds of corvettes; those that have the Service Column Lock Message and those that will get it." That's really the only common problem with these cars. Please note that the car only has two seats. My wife bought the car in December 2012 and soon realized it doesn't work if you have kids. We need the money now so we can have the down payment for the house she found. Believe me, I rationalized giving up the kids before the car. See separate auction for the kids. (Just kidding about selling the kids people.) Hope it finds a good home. I REALLY don't want to part with it, but I have to. I get better gas mileage (average 21 in commuting to work) in this than I do in my Infiniti G35.
