Vehicle Detail
Rare 1990 Audi 90q 20v Sedan Front-end damage, but excellent mechanics/interior! This is a rare, 1990 Audi 90 quattro 20-valve sedan. Except for the front end damage, it is in excellent mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic shape. Unlike many Audi's of this age, before the front-end damage EVERYTHING was in working shape, including a very nice interior. If you are not familiar with these cars, here is a link to Automobile Magazine's “Collectible Classic” review from 2010: http://www.automobilemag.com/features/collectible_classic/1011_1990_1991_audi_90_quattro_20v/viewall.html The engine is strong and uses no oil; the transmission shifts well, and even the rear differential lock works. All the instruments and other electrical equipment works, including a fully-rebuilt A/C system. This car was upgraded and maintained to be ready for a 20v turbo engine swap, so the brakes, wheels, and suspension are new. However, I have taken on a ur-quattro project and no longer have time to work on this car. It is an excellent starting point to either fix as-is, take the opportunity to do an engine swap (20v turbo or V8), or (sigh) use for all of the very nice and hard-to-find parts. Following is a list of new parts and mechanical work done over the last year: Suspension: Rear sway bar links Bilstein Sport shocks (front and rear) Strut mounts Springs (front/rear) Upgraded 15” OEM Audi wheels from later 90q 4 Continental ExtremeWinterContact snow tires (195/55-R15) Brakes: Upgraded front brakes to G60 calipers, pads, and rotors Rear brake calipers, pads, and rotors Emergency brake cables Brake hoses (except front right) Brake reservoir Other mechanical: Battery Valve cover gasket O2 sensor Exhaust manifold gasket Spark plugs, wires, distributor, and rotor Timing belt & V-belts Heater core New A/C – compressor, receiver-dryer (R134a conversion) About the body and front-end damage....pictures tell most of the story; here are some details: No rust on any body panels Hood, driver's side fender, radiator support, and front bumper damaged (passenger side fender seems unaffected) Other body panels in nice shape All doors open/close as they should Car starts/runs and drives straight, except radiator was punctured so coolant leaked out Belt is off hydraulic pump (part of mounting bracket broke), so no power assistance for steering/brakes You would at least have to fix the radiator before the car could be started/driven; I highly recommend it be towed first. I am a long-time Audi enthusiast, and have owned five of these 1988-1991 90q cars (sedan and coupe), so I know them very well. Please provide a good home for this car! Title is clean and in my name. Original key and Viper alarm with remote locking/unlock included. The car is being sold at a starting price with no reserve. Questions are welcome....thank you!
