I regret that I must pass this project on to someone else. This car can be completed for less than $10,000 (including paint) The red car pictured is a real Ferrari 275 GTS. Only 200 copies of this Pininfarina designed Ferrari were built between 1964 and 1966. Examples have recently sold for as much as $800,000. My “look-a-like” is built around a Fiat 124 Spyder, (also designed by Pininfarina) stretched and modified to look almost identical to the 275. The pictures of the original Ferrari are included to show how close this car is to the real thing. In order to accomplish the transformation the chassis was stretched 6 inches to match the original wheelbase of the Ferrari by creating a new sub-frame from the firewall forward. The nose was modified to incorporate the Ferrari egg-crate grill, the side vents were added, the rear quarter panels reshaped and rear tail lights replaced with GTO style lights. The body is all steel except for the hood, which is steel reinforced fiberglass. All of the work on this car was done by Momentum Motorsports. The Custom chassis includes: Stainless steel tubular Front A- arms, rack and pinion steering, coil over shocks (front and rear) Currie 3.55 posi-trac rear end, GM disc brakes all around, Dayton center spoke wire wheels with real knock off lugs (spare included) The roll bars are removable (bolted in) Powertrain: 350 hp Northstar 4.6 liter V8 4 cam variable valve timing, custom ECM Ford T5 transmission with hydraulic actuated clutch. Ron Davis aluminum radiator Twin “ANSA” style exhaust tips The engine sounds surprisingly similar to a modern Ferrari. With 350 hp in a car weighing only 2500 lbs this car is very quick. The car is mechanically complete, runs and drives well. Needs wiring, instruments, and interior installed and final body prep for a paint job to complete. Estimated cost to paint and complete wiring and interior installation by Momentum Motorsports: $10,000. Momentum will finish the car for the buyer if desired.
