Up for bid is my 1978 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT super cab 4wd. Drivetrain: The truck has 116k miles and still has its original 400 6.6l engine. Its not very powerful but it will get you anywhere you want to go and has proven itself very reliable. It runs good, starts right up on cold mornings and does not overheat at all. It has a new edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, new holley 600 cfm carb, new alternator, msd ignition, etc. It has a c6 3 speed automatic transmission that does not slip and goes through all gears as it should. It has a np 205 part time transfer case and the 4wd works great. Truck has dual batteries. It also has a a Beaver electric winch I have only tried it once and it does work but have never had the need to use it. The truck originally had 5 lug axles and I swapped them both out for a set of 3/4 ton axles out of a 1978 F250. It has a high pinion dana 44 front axle and dana 60 rear with a locker both with 4.10 gears. I just installed new drum brakes and new shocks in the rear. Also installed a new 1978 F-350 master cylinder and brake booster about a month ago. It has a total of three gas tanks. I have only used the original rear 19 gallon tank. The truck drives nice and straight down the road and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. Interior: The interior is very clean for an old truck. The dash has no cracks and the door panels are in great shape. I just installed new carpet in it about a month ago and had both the front and rear jump seats reupholstered. It has intermittent wipers which work fine. All the dash lights, gauges, and interior lights work well as does the cd player and the heater also works great.. The next item on my list was to replace the door weather stripping (the passenger door leaks water inside when it rains) and the get new rubber for the windshield (also leaks). Exterior: The exterior needs paint but is very straight. It was originally a tu tone blue truck but as you can see it was repainted many years ago and it is really faded. The bed is also clean and you can see it wasnt beat up and used as a work truck. It does have some rust bubbling up on the drip rails and on the drivers side rear portion of the bed. The whole truck is solid that is really the only minor rust issues it has. It has new 16x8 aluminum wheels and 285/75/16 mud tires. they shake a little so balancing might help. I have the clean CA title in hand truck is currently registered and insured in my name. The truck is for sale local and reserve the right to end the auction early. Please bid only if you are serious. Selling the truck as-is. It is missing some smog equipment so will not pass CA emissions.
