1981 Jeep Scrambler, base model. It has the GM 151ci engine with a 4 speed transmission. It is not a powerhouse but it does fine for daily driving. The engine was re-built about 12,300 miles ago. I reset the odometer to zero after the rebuild, the exact miles on the body are unknown. I drive it daily with no problems. It is cold natured like most Jeeps but once it is warm it runs fine. Since I purchased the Jeep I have installed the following items: New leaf springs, Laredo dash with clock and tach, OEM AM/FM/CB radio, DIN style radio mounted under the dash with Ipod connection and CD player, new clutch slave cylinder, window seals, door locks and exhaust. The vehicle has some rust as shown in the pictures: floor pans were patched by the previous owner, the bed and wheel wells were also patched and bed liner applied. Body mounts also have rust. The pictures show the details. Since this is the first year of the Scrambler it has the narrow axles. Four wheel drive works fine. It also has an oversized gas tank. I do not kow the exact capacity but I have pumped as much as 29 gallons into it. The rims are 7" factory rims with BFG tires. It has been a fun project but I do not have the time to finish it.
