Vehicle Detail

Hi, I have a cool old Triumph for your bidding pleasure. This is a 1977 Triumph Bonneville T140V motorcycle. The T140 designates that the bike is a 750cc. The V of course is 5, being a 5 speed. The bike was built in September of 1977. This bike has front and rear disc brakes that actually still work. The front master cylinder is the newer stainless cylinder. This motorcycle was taken off the road in 2005, so it had been maintained until then. I bought it a few years ago from the owner because he had bought a new Triumph, thus parking this one in his garage(not outside) The bike has rust on most of the chrome including the rims. The rear tire is bald, the seat pan is rusty but all in all this old Triumph doesn't look bad. I thought this would be a perfect candidate to make a coveted Cafe Racer. Alot of the cafe guys have their bikes powercoated so the parts on this bike that have rust would still be good to use. Go that way or restore this bike, also you could run it as it is if you put a rear tire on it. I've had this a few years. Two weeks ago I put in a new battery, cleaned the carbs, added fresh gas and the bike started on the third or forth kick. It now starts even easier. The clutch plates are not stuck, the engine runs fine, the transmission goes into all gears, and the new battery is included. This bike is complete, center stand, side stand, chain guard all the stuff that is usually gone. I have a clear title in my name and this is a matching numbers bike. I am selling this Triumph at a low reserve so please only bid if you plan to pay. Buyer is responsible for pickup of this bike. Thanks for looking and have a good day....On Feb-20-13 at 12:42:29 PST, seller added the following information: Hello Again, I have been asked what it took to get the bike running..As I have listed I cleaned the carbs, added fresh gas, and then installed a new battery. I was asked about cleaning the points. I forgot to mention that the bike has a nice Boyer electronic ignition that really makes starting nice and easy. Also you guys are correct, the mufflers are Norton peashooters and look good on the Triumph. One more thing, I mentioned the chrome has rust but it is really not bad. I just don't want someone thinking they are getting a perfect motorcycle. This is a cool old bike. The winning bidder will be happy with this bike. Thanks to all my bidders and for the questions. Have a good day!On Feb-25-13 at 15:24:12 PST, seller added the following information: Hi.....Ive been asked about the condition of the fuel tank. There are no dents or gouges on the tank. The inside is very nice and is not rusty. Thank you
