Condition: So-So. The body is in good shape with the typical wear and tear you would see on a 1998 vehicle (parking lot scratches, etc.). The interior is not as great - there are a few stains and the roof lining is coming apart a little by the tailgate (you can see this in photo 10). The only reason I am selling this vehicle is the engine. The SOHC engine has a history of issues with oil pressure and this one is no exception. I have had the car for approximately 5 years and didn't have any problems until a few weeks ago (this was my daily driver). One day, the pressure started acting up, and the next, it made horrible noises when running. It now sounds like a diesel engine. I don't have the time or inclination to fix it, but am hoping someone will know this issue and how to handle it, or would like to use it for parts for their explorer. Parts on the '98 generally fit any 98-01 explorer. On the plus side: Brand new brakes, excellent shocks (also pretty new), good tires with plenty of tread left on them, full size spare with matching wheel, transmission is in great shape - still shifts like a dream. I have the title - clean, no liens. Still has all of the original owner's manual literature in the glovebox, along with a set of spare fuses. I will also leave the Haynes Repair Manual for the vehicle in the car for you. I will not ship or deliver it to you, you will have to arrange pick up - bring a tow truck.
