Vehicle Detail

1972 Chevy c10 4X4 (Four Wheel Drive) for sale. Truck has a 383 stroker (Chevy 350 block with Chevy 400 crankshaft). Motor has 17,000 miles, but needs new camshaft and lifters, and has not been run in over ten years. Should also be disassembled and evaluated just be on the safe side, but did not knock whatsoever when truck was stored. Not running at this time, and will need work to get going again. Four speed manual transmission (with granny gear), rebuilt clutch & pressure plate when motor was originally installed. Transfer case was disassembled , inspected and new gaskets installed at same time. Truck has TRU-TRACK kits (real four wheel drive, power-to-all-wheels on both differentials) installed by a professional transmission/ drivetrain shop here in Rapid City also at roughly the same time. Has decent interior with replacement factory dash pad, nice carpet, good glass all around, sliding rear window, has power steering and brakes, and has a long wide box with liner. Comes with average condition white spoke wheels and tires (not the wheels in photos). Truck had the rocker panels replaced, but needs cab corners, different doors and box, and fender patch panels or replacements to be really nice. Does not have tailgate assy. Comes with some components for air conditioning as well, but cab would need retrofitting to use them. Also comes with 1970 Chevy parts truck that has a near-perfect box and doors, average non-stock bucket seats and front fenders , and an average tailgate assy (no motor or trans in this extra truck). Clear titles on both outfits. This auction is for BOTH trucks, no warranty, inspect at your convenience here in Rapid City, South Dakota. No reserve auction, paypal, wire transfer, or cash.... or personal check as long as it clears before you come for the trucks. Payment in full due within three days of auction end.I will store for up to thirty days if that helps you arrange for shipping. Email me for answers to any of your questions. I’ll do my best to fully describe anything I may have missed. Thanks! On Feb-18-13 at 20:54:35 PST, seller added the following information: The mileage stated is what's on the odometer. Even though the speedometer and odometer have always worked since I bought the truck in the eighties it could have already rolled over before I bought the truck. I have no way of knowing if it's actual or not, so ASSUME THE ACTUAL MILEAGE IS UNKNOWN.On Feb-24-13 at 13:49:29 PST, seller added the following information: I just tried to add a few pics, like a pic of the interior and the array of air conditioner parts,. but ebay said that's unavailable at this time (I'll try again a little later). The pics you see of the black '72 are 2009, but are a pretty good representation of the truck's condition today. (no damage or parts missing, etc) I was asked what exactly I mean when I say the PARTS TRUCK has doors and box that are "near perfect". What I mean is that there is virtually no rust, other than minor surface rust that's easily sanded or media blasted. It also means that I can see no obvious presence of bondo or faulty old repairs on the doors. They look almost laser straight on the outside. It doesn't mean that the interior door panels are perfect, or that there will be no prep work at all to get them ready for paint. They WILL require prep, it's just really rare to find doors in this condition to begin with. The box (parts truck, again) is super straight on both sides, and has a small dent in the right side tail light area that should pull very easily as well. Again, this does NOT mean that there is nothing to be done if you want your finished product to be considered showroom. The wood floor on BOTH trucks is in need of replacement. That's about as common a condition as you'll find on these trucks that were actually used as TRUCKS. Again, it's about the really nice sheet metal, NOT that they're "brand new".The reason I got the parts truck to begin with is that the '72 4X4 needs these parts to be a high-end restoration, unless you want to put on new door skins, and box sides, and other body panel repairs instead. Using the '70 parts makes it a LOT easier, but that's just my opinion. LMC has tons of new aftermarket body panels if that's how you want to go (if you want to do TWO trucks). In case it hasn't been obvious thus far, you should either be mechanically and body work savvy, or be willing to pay someone else to do the work. These trucks, together, give you a BIG head start toward a beautiful Classic Chevy, but I don't want any misunderstandings as to whether they'll require some work. One more time...... COME LOOK if you can, make sure you're satisfied, and then bid on a future, restored truck that will amaze everyone that sees it!
