Vehicle Detail
Intro: I am selling my red 2010 Toyota Tundra 4x4 DoubleCab with a 5.7L V8. I am the original owner of this truck. It is in "Excellent Working Condition." There is alot to cover on this truck, so I'm going to start by telling you a bit about myself. I am a 31 year old, single, non-smoker, with no children. I am a truck driver by trade...(Peterbilt's, Kenworth's, etc..) I am also a bit of a shade-tree mechanic. Working on, and driving vehicles is my passion, and it is a big part of my life. I have worked on 100's of vehicles in my life, and have owned over a dozen cars and trucks, a dozen motorcycles, and many other motorized toys, boats, snowmobiles, jet-ski's, etc. I bought this Tundra brand new in 2010. It sat in a garage in Montana for the first year of its life, while I was on the road working. (The truck is titled in Montana. The title is clean, and I have it in my hand.) I would come home every couple weeks and install various parts I had purchased. It was a project for most of that first year. The idea when I bought the truck was to run a true 35" tire, while keeping the truck -and the center of gravity- as low as possible. Ground clearance without sacrificing handling. I did everything myself except for the front springs/shock installation, where I needed some help from the dealership and their tooling. All oil changes, tire rotations, driveshaft lubrication, bumper installations, topper, bedrug, wheels, tires... I have done myself. This is not my first truck, but it is without a doubt my best. I love this truck, and it really is the culmination of all my driving and mechanical experience, wrapped into a package that I believe is one of the toughest, most reliable, and best looking trucks on the road. It does everything well, and really falls short nowhere. It has the speed and handling for Interstate trips, the clearance and 4x4 needed for off-road excursions, the towing/load-hauling capability, camp-ability, reliability... I can go on and on... all I can say is that to me, as a professional driver who lives and breathes trucks all day every day, this is the perfect general use medium-duty truck. The truck is in San Diego with me now. It has been kept here in California for the last year and a half. It has never been a daily driver. It has been mostly used for road trips, camping trips, or surfing trips, and expeditions up and down the west coast of California. I do not want to sell this truck, but a changing financial situation is forcing this sale. Here's what has been added to the truck: 1) $3500 - SnugTop Super Sport Topper, with factory added Yakima roof-rack ($500 option), ignition-independent LED lighting (custom), fold-down/sliding front window, and a Pro-Lock all glass rear door ($150 option which can be locked from both the outside, or inside if you are camping). 2) $2750 - 35x12.50 R20 Toyo M/T Tires, mounted on 20" KMC XD Rockstar matte black aluminum wheels. (The stock tire/wheel on this truck was a 33" on an 18" wheel... so it is a minor +2" step up in both wheel size, and tire height... also adding an extra 2" of width, with ~1" added to both the inside and outside of the wheel center.) 3) $300 - ARB/OME Heavy Coil Springs and Nitrogen OME Shocks up front. These were necessary to support both the weight of the front bumper, and to provide clearance for the larger tires. They leveled the truck (2" lift), while also improving the ride and handling. No dive under braking, and very little sway from side to side. The rear suspension is totally stock, and the truck is perfectly level. It handles excellent on and off the road... a bit stiff up front, softer in the rear, just the way it should be. 4) $2250 - ARB Deluxe Front Winch Bumper. You can find info on this at ARB's website. They are the best, crash tested, and airbag approved. This bumper weighs over 200 pounds and it is solid 3/16" steel. Safe to say you will be driving away from most front end collisions. The factory foglight housings are mounted in the bumper, using the factory wiring and switch in the cab. This bumper has provisions to mount a winch, although I never needed one. 5) $1300 - Expedition One Rear Bumper. This bumper is solid 3/16" steel as well. Very sturdy and safe to say the truck will remain drivable, with minimal damage (if any), after a low to medium speed rear end collision. There are 2 heavy-duty attachment points with attached D-Rings, and 4" round LED tail-lights on both sides of the bumper. 6) $100 - Optima Yellow Deep Cycle Battery. These are the best heavy use sealed batteries. Deep Cycle allows you to run it all the way down, and charge it back up many times, without damaging the battery... great for camping. 7) $100 - WeatherTech In-Channel Window Deflectors above all 4 cab windows. They fit great, keep water and wind out, look great. No adhesive, no mess. 8) $200 - WeatherTech Floor-mats up front, and a HuskyLiner 1-Piece floor liner across the entire rear floor. These floor mats catch and hold water, sand, and mud. The carpet/flooring underneath is just like new. 9) $200 - Lighting... Sylvannia SilverStar Ultra headlight bulbs for both high and low beams. JDM Yellow fog light bulbs, factory wattage, installed in the factory fog-light housing, using the factory wiring and switch location. 5W ARB orange front parking lights mounted in bumper. White LED lighting in camper shell. 4" Truck-Lite LED lights flush-mounted in rear bumper turn on with parking lights (these are the best and very bright LED lights like you see on the big 18-wheeler show trucks). What all this amounts to is a very visible, very safe truck in the worst of conditions... with 4 taillights +1 LED 3rd brake light strip, 6 front marker bulbs, 6 front driving bulbs, and 2 side mirror markers. 11) Factory Security System has been activated. (a $500 dealer option) 12) $350 - LED Lighted and Heated Telescoping Tow Mirrors w/ turn signal/hazard indicators. Had the dealer add these premium mirrors during the sale. 13) $500 - BedRug. Top of the line padded and carpeted BedRug is installed with hook and loop fasteners. Fully removable. Marine-Grade, chemically resistant carpet. Color matches topper and interior. Can be washed out with a hose. Check out BedRugs's website for more info! 14) Keyed, locking gas cap. Here's what has NOT been modified on the truck (some things are best left alone): Everything under the hood is stock except for the battery. The engine, transmission, transfer case, drivelines, gears, front and rear axles, are all stock. Nothing has ever been touched or worked on. No modifications to the intake, exhaust, rear suspension, body, or frame of the truck. No modifications to the electrical system. The interior is all factory stock except for the floor-mats. There is no window tinting film on the truck of any kind. MORE INFO: 1) Oil has been changed every 5K miles by myself. Nobody has touched that filter housing or drain plug but myself. I use Mobil One full-synthetic 0W-20 (factory spec) and Toyota filters. Tire rotations and driveshaft lubrication with synthetic grease have been done at roughly the same intervals. I have a file on my computer where I keep track of all the maintenance intervals... you will get a copy with the truck. 2) The stereo has a factory 1/8" jack connector, for playing music from iPods/iPhones or whatever. 3) Everything locks. Factory alarm/key-fob, locking gas-cap, locking rear glass door, locking tailgate, locking Yakima roof-rack, keyed wheel locks on all 20 lugs... comes with two sets of keys for everything... 3 sets for the ignition. 4) Truck comes with an oil filter wrench/tool in the glove box. You will need it to do oil changes. 5) Factory orange daytime running lights, factory fog lamps (changed to yellow), rear privacy glass with sliding window. 6) Cold Weather Package: heavy duty starter, heated mirrors, wiper de-icer. 7) Tow Package: 10,300 lbs., transmission cooler, 4.30 rear end with 10.5" ring gear, 150 Amp upgraded alternator, trans temp gauge, more... 8) The original factory jack, tools for changing a tire, owner's manual, and original factory window sticker are all included in this auction. CONDITION: This truck is 100% operational and functional. Excellent condition. Needs nothing. Everything works. Everything has been kept clean, tuned, and adjusted properly. This truck is in 90% like new cosmetic condition. It has no major dents or damage of any kind. No door dings. The usual minor rock chips... some touched up, some not. The bumpers are black painted steel, and they have been touched up in a few places... either from minor bumps/dings from city parking, or minor scratches/scrapes with bushes/brush when off-road... the best thing about steel bumpers is they never need to be replaced, just sanded and sprayed. They look a little rugged, but I enjoy not having to worry about touching stuff touching my bumpers. The brakes are about ~30% worn. They have plenty of life left and are in great condition. The tires are in great condition, no leaks or sidewall cuts/blisters. These tires have about 30K miles on them and have plenty of life left. I would say they have a little less than 50% tread remaining. I would expect them to last until around 45-50K miles. Fluid levels are topped up and nothing leaks. Coolant is bright green. Oil is crystal clear. Brake fluid is clear. Power steering fluid is good. Washer fluid ok. Everything is good. PICTURES: The 3rd to last photo of the tire was taken yesterday... it shows the current tread depth of the tires. All 4 tires are original and have the exact same tread depth with even wear. Some of the exterior photos are a bit older, and show the tires in newer condition. All of the interior photos and the engine picture were taken yesterday. Additional information about the make/model/pricing can be found in the 2nd to last picture showing the original window sticker. The last picture shows the truck next to a Ford Raptor for a size comparison. My Tundra is bigger, and both trucks sit on the same size tire. PRICING: KBB for this truck in totally stock factory trim is around ~$24,000 for a private party sale. When the correct accessory boxes are checked on the KBB form, the value approaches $27,000... although there is no way to accurately add all the accessories installed on this truck. The truck was purchased new in 2010 for $32,510. I have invested somewhere around $10,000 into parts and equipment. I am starting the auction at the highest price offered to me by a wholesaler here in San Diego, $24,000... but I am expecting this truck to sell somewhere between $27,000 - $28,000+. DELIVERY BONUS: If you live in the western U.S.A. (West of the Mississippi River), I will personally deliver this truck for free, within 3 days of a cleared payment. All I ask in return is compensation for fuel cost, 1 beer, and a ride to the nearest airport/bus station. Whatever you want to do, I am very flexible, and I will work with you to make this as easy as possible. Wrap it up: This truck is beautiful, and I get people stopping to say "nice truck", or take pictures every time I drive it! Yes, they will stop and take pictures;) If I forgot anything, or if you have any questions, please ask me! (feel like i just wrote a book) Thank you and good luck with the auction :-)
