This 1998 Ford Contour SE has been donated to our non-profit organization. I have driven this car personally, and it runs and drives NICE! The car has 208,041 miles on it, and the four cylinder engine gets GREAT gas mileage! We understand that the transmission was rebuilt approximately 50,000 miles ago, and it shifts as it should. The engine runs well, and the brakes, tires, glass, and exhaust are also in good condition. The car DOES NOT run hot, and there are NO "check engine" lights on! The car has power windows, cruise control, power mirrors ( though the passenger side mirror is missing... see pics ), power locks, AM / FM cassette, and YES, it all works! The exterior of the car is in decent condition for it's age and mileage ( see pics ), and the Virginia State Safety Inspection is valid through August 2013! The car does have rust through on the rear of both lower rocker panels (beneath the rear doors), as well as a rust spot on the driver's side front fender ( again, see pics ). Also, the reflective crosslight on the rear of the trunk is cracked / broken on the driver's side, and the passenger side rear view mirror is broken off and missing ( these are easy fixes! ). There is also a slight pressure crease on the driver's side front fender above the wheelwell ( barely noticeable ), and the car does have the usual dings, chips, scratches, etc... that one would expect on a car of this age. The interior is in decent condition, and a good cleaning would do wonders for it! There is tape across the top of the rear window stop light. I'm not sure why it is there, and haven't messed with it. Also, the driver's seat back locking mechanism seems to be slightly stripped, thus allowing the back of the seat to slip out of position (recline a notch or two) if pushed against too hard.
