Vehicle Detail
You are viewing a 1968 Mercury Park Lane convertible. One of a rare handful that had the 'Yacht Deck' siding option. Long story short on the car is that it was purchased new in Oklahoma City. Paul T Million Mercury. Still has the plaque on the back. I bought it from the original owners daughter. Her dad was a Shriner and ordered two yacht deck cars to drive in parades around Oklahoma. He died in the middle of cosmetically restoring this one about 10 years ago, so it sat inside until I got it last year. It has the original drivetrain. 390, 4brl, Automatic. He was about ready to put the yacht deck siding back on, but never got it done. I finally opened the 10 year old boxes to find it was wood grain, but did not have the black line in it. So it's your call what you want to use. It will come with regular or you can buy the correct stuff. There are a few sources that have it available, and I also know of a guy that has NOS if your picky. The car needs all the usual for something that sat. I rebuilt the carb and it runs off a gas tank under hood. She's cold blooded as the choke doesn't like to work right when cold. Main gas tank needs cleaned but looks good. No rust on the car I can see. I had it up on a lift and it's very solid. Brakes are bad. Tranny shifts good. I did take it slowly around the block. There is some dinged up trim, and I will sell the buyer my parts car which is a 68 Park Lane 2 dr fastback. Tons of good parts it has. I will sell it to convertible buyer for $ 800 and it will be rolling and ready to load on a trailer. Seat belts ( which one side is missing on the conv ) and extra trim to swap out. Also a complete 390 with AC. One power window was sticking on the car so I took the door panel off in picture. It works, but needs some work for the long term. It also has a hole in decklid where the CB antenna is. The top is nice. Rear window has one corner that needs tucked back in and glue. Front windshiled has wiper marks, but should polish out with the kits you can buy on ebay. Dash is warped, but I know a guy with one for $ 75 you can buy. The one thing missing is the headrests. He took them off to have redone, but the were MIA and I dug through everything before I moved it to my house. MIA. This is basically a really rare solid car, and worth great money with a little work. I just have to many other projects and don't have the time to do this and I don't want to see it sit. Original owners manual included. I'm also overseas friendly and will help a trucker load the car. Consider it as non-op but with working parking brake. Clean Texas title in my name. The last pictures is one currently for sale for $ 25,000. This one is much much less expensive. Make me an offer.
