The Carrera 4 is the automotive equivalent of Jekyll and Hyde: around town under 3000 RPM it is a very civilized daily driver or commuter car with a smooth shifting automatic transmission delivering acceptable fuel economy, but press it hard and it litteraly explodes with power all the way to the red-line using the automatic or manual Tiptronic controls. The C4 comes with AWD and PSM (not available on the C2) to keep you safe and secure while you're exploring the car's performance. 4 Brand new 18" tires, ABS and Front & Side Airbags round out the safety equipment. This car has only 77k miles. The previous owner had a pre-sale inspection done at 75K including compression check on the engine which read between 160 and 165 all across cylinders. At the same service the previous owner installed new cam cover seals, plugs, oil change/filter and oil separator. The car does have a rebuilt salvage title due to a prior front end collision but does look, run and drive very well. We just replaced all 4 tires with 285/30ZR18's in the rear & 225/40ZR18's in the front along with a professional wheel alignment from a specialist shop (not a chain tire store) to make sure everything is to spec. The car has been a well kept and the interior and exterior shows well. Exterior: Again, the car was in a front end collision many years ago and has been repaired and repainted. It looks good overall with a decent average quality paint job which is still nice and shiny. It does have a few very minor scratches and scuffs as can be expected with the age. It also has a small dent at the corner of the rear hatch. I included photos of these areas. I did not see the car before the accident repair but it looks like the car was hit high with no suspension or under carriage damage and still has its original hood & fenders from what I can tell. It is missing a few fasteners in the front trunk area. The optional chrome wheels are in excellent shape shod with 4 brand new tires with extra wide 285/30 rollers in the rear. Interior: Black, full power leather seats are in good shape with a small mark on the driver's seat (see photo). All power windows, locks and sunroof work perfectly. The car has a wonderful black suede alcantara headliner to complement the interior! The dash is very nice with no cracks and includes an optional center console storage bin in place of the antiquated cassette holder. The AC works great and climate control is in good working condition. The Leather steering wheel is in very good condition with little to no signs of wear. The carpeting looks very good and rear paneling is in great shape. Both Door panels are in good condition. The car has an aftermarket stereo system (w/ remote) connected to a large 4 channel amplifier in the trunk and integrated bluetooth audio for hands-free cell phone use or streaming music like Pandora. There is a little alternator noise coming through the stereo that needs attention. The key based remote transmitter does not work, but the alarm works via the manual door lock. It may be as simple as having the dealer re-program the key to the car. Overall you won't be disappointed, the interior is clean and was well kept. Mechanically the car runs very well and we've been using it every day since we purchased it in the fall. It is scheduled for an oil service which we will perform before delivery. The 3.4L engine fires right up and runs great. The transmission shifts well in both auto and triptronic mode. The car handles tight and drives straight and true down the road. The C4 came as standard with Porsche Stability management (PSM). This traction control system groups together a series of safety devices (including traction control, anti-slip control and Automatic Brake Differential– ABD) that had in the past worked independently of each other. Traction control now communicates with ABS and a brake differential control to create a system that can brake each wheel individually. Brakes are in good shape with cross-drilled rotors.
