1955 Porsche 550 Spyder Replica By BECK LOW RESERVE FREE SHIPPING Open carrier, lower 48 States. This car is a little Rocket Ship. It will leave a Porsche 911 scratching its head. This car was a special order for a Dr. Sloane in Massachusetts in 1990. He used it only on a rare, warm summer day in Massachusetts to drive up and down the coast. That is the reason for only 5,300 miles on the car. (Actually it is a lot less because the odometer is in kilometers.) This car is in flawless condition, both mechanically and physically. There are many reproduction companies making these 550 Spyders. Some are very good quality and some are way below par. BECK Spyders and Speedsters are built on a 3” rigid tubular frame and not by using a shortened VW floor pan like most reproduction companies use. Spend more but DON’T settle for anything less than a BECK. BECK is the ONLY reproduction company sanctioned and supported by Porsche to duplicate this car and to use the Porsche emblems. This car is as close to the exact original as when it came out in 1954, 1955 and 1956. A total of 90 original 550’s were made. The last one sold about 2 years ago for over $3,000,000.00 (that’s three million). If you had the wrecked one that James Dean died in, it would be priceless. Even smashed up. However, no one knows what happened to that car.
