Vehicle Detail

This item is for sale directly from me, I guarantee you'll be better off buying direct as I'll pass along any fee savings to you. I will also sell the block alone, by itself for $450 plus any shipping. If you have questions, contact me at 828-644-3713. You are bidding on 1972 340 HP Engine, from a 1972 340 Road Runner. Car had less than 16,000 miles, was hit hard in the side. The engine was removed and disassembled for a performance rebuild, however a 403ci engine fell into my lap so the 340 is being sold. First the block was hot tanked then magnafluxed, found to be crack free, then sonic checked- this engine can take an overbore of at least .060, so this is a very thick block but it was left as standard bore. The block was then decked and trued. The bore was found to have no taper, so a finish hone was done. We purchased Keith Black 10:1 pistons, a set of Federal Mogul(TRW) File Fit rings were installed to pistons. The rods were resized, ARP Waveloc bolts were added to the rods in addition to theresize, Clevite Rod Bearings were installed, and the pistons with rings were installed with new wrist pins. We had both a factory high performance shot peened crank and a 1970 plain steel crank. Both were turned 10/10, and then the rotating assembly was dynamically balanced. A slight bit of metal was added to the shot peened crank, none was needed on the 1970 crank. You may choose between the factory high performance shot peened crank and the 1970 steel crank. You may also choose between a complete set of Small Block J heads or a set of Small Block J heads that has had a bowl job and porting. The ported heads will need valves, springs, retainers. Both sets of heads have(ported had) the large valves, you will get 340hp rocker arms and shafts with either choice. So here is what is included(not all items are pictured): Engine Block: Stock Bore, Finish Hone, Block Decked & Trued. Block magna Choose One Crank: (1)High Performance Factory Shotpeened Crank(3462387) with Mopar Performance Balancer Turned 10/10 & Balanced to Rotating Assembly or (2) 1970 Steel Crank Keith Black Pistons with File to Fit TRW/FM Rings Choose One Set of Heads: (A) Pair J Heads with bowl job and port work, with rocker arms and shafts, no valves or springs or (b)a set of complete large valve J heads 1971/1972 340 HP 4bbl Intake Forged Rods with New ARP Bolts Clevite Rod Bearings(clearance is perfect to crank, ready to install) E/B Body Oil Pan Water Pump Housing Timing Cover Valve Covers Choose between (a)Thermoquad or (b)Carter AFB Pulleys & PS Pump & Alternator Bracket If you pick the engine up in person you are welcome to pull any incidentals you desire off of a complete small block donor motor than I have for parts. A Note on Renegotiation: You set the price on this item with your bid, what the final bid price is, is what you will pay. If you try to negotiate price after the end of the auction, I will just cancel the sale and relist. The time for any questions or negotiation is before the end of the auction. Payment if Shipping: Paypal or Check, and must clear before pickup or shipping. If you are going to use Paypal, I need payment within 24 hours of the auction. If you use a check, I need it within 5 business days, and figure 5 days to clear fully. Payment on Pickup Option: If you are going to pay on pickup terms are CASH only, pickup within 7 days of the end of the auction. If you need more time to pickup, I can handle that, but I need to paid for it ASAP, if I haven't been paid and 7 days go by, I cancel the auction and relist. Shipping: This will need to go via Freight. I live off of a dead end, one lane, unpaved road, so an 18 wheeler cannot access me for pickup, however if you will cover the cost of gas, I will deliver to a shipping terminal near Chattanooga TN or north of Atlanta GA. Cost of gas will be $40. Palletizing only will cost $25(that means it is strapped to a pallet and that is it). Crating, which includes palletizing and building a crate, will be $50. Picking it up in person will be free, I can load into your car or pickup with my tractor. I can arrange freight shipping once the auction is done- figure between $200-$800 depending on where you are and what's neccessary. It is cheaper for you to pick up at terminal, and it will be cheaper if I drop it off at a terminal(see above). To get an idea of what it will cost, you can contact FreightCenter.com(best) or FreightQuote(okay)- if you want to handle the shipping arrangements, that is fine by me because it will most likely be cheaper for you. However, if you try to use USHIP.com, you're crazier than hell because 90% of them are fly-by-night without any insurance and they will hold your items hostage until you pay them more than originally quoted. All sales final. No warranties expressed or implied. Sold as is, where is.
