OVERVIEW
If you know and follow the classic Chevy truck market, then you no doubt have heard of the Kolkman collection.
Some of the finest examples of highly restored late 60's and early 70's Chevrolet pickups have passed through his hands and collection, and I am fortunate enough to have come across a few of them to offer here for purchase.
Those of you who missed out on the gorgeous yellow C10 we just sold, and the stunning blue C10 that sold in just four days, can find solace in the fact that this truck is equally as stunning, equally as sorted out and restored, and was actually the one that was driven the most (if 3,000 miles in four years is a lot!) since the restoration was completed!
One of just 19,684 fleetside 4x4 K20's produced in 1972, chances are you will not find a nicer example anywhere.
The truck has been fully disassembled down to the last bolts, and everything was either refurbished or new when put together again, leaving an incredibly nice C20 with exceptional driveability.
With just about 3,000 miles since completion, the truck is show ready, drive ready, and is one of the finest examples of a 3/4 ton 4x4 around.

The truck wears it's Dark Green finish wonderfully, and it is a gorgeous, rare color to see on a vintage truck. The paint code was written down, and is included for any future touch up you may need.
One of the advantages to painting a truck that has been frame-off restored is that every nook and cranny can be bead blasted, prepped, treated, and finished with the proper color, so as not to have any unmatched sections.
This truck has only been in Florida since January of 2011, was born in Nebraska according to the original owners manual and protect-o-plate included in the sale, and spent the rest of it's time high and dry in Colorado, as noted by the rust, bondo, patch, and issue free all steel body.
You can run a 4"x4" felt covered magnet over the entire truck, and it sticks like glue EVERYWHERE!
The fantastic fit and finish of the factory panels is just exceptional, and ultra rare in a world where so many vehicles have had aftermarket fenders, bed pieces, and doors installed to replace rusted parts.
Paint on the truck is still glossy, slick, and smooth, as you would expect of a 4 year old restoration, but it does show some minor marks from being driven and enjoyed for 3,000 miles.
These are mainly some stone chips, light scuffs, marks on the top edge of the tailgate and bed from use, minor clear bubbling, light clear debris, and other inconsequential issues most would gloss over.
Some have been touched up with correct color paint, others have not, but as you can tell in the 100 large photos below, none of them really detract at all from the overall appearance of the truck. Most sellers would call it perfect, but I would rather you know about the tiniest things, so you are 100% satisfied with it when it comes off the transport truck!
Trim and bright work on the truck is in very good to excellent condition all the way around, and most of it was brand new when the restoration was completed less than 3,000 miles ago. As you can see in the photos, a little polish and elbow grease could make it show like new when you have it detailed professionally, but some miniscule marks wouldn't wipe away with the QuickShine spray and a towel.
Bumpers and bumper brackets were new, as were the mirrors, antenna, windshield wiper arms, cab surround, and other brightwork.
Side Cheyenne trim with wood centers looks fantastic as well, and the wood shows great.
The inner fenders were removed, sandblasted, and painted, and still show wonderfully.
All of the tinted glass is like new, along with the weatherstripping and trim that go with them. There are no cracks, chips, lamintation issues, or any other issues.
The truck rolls on 16" MOTO METAL show chromed rims that are in excellent condition, and show only the faintest signs of use.
They are wrapped in BFGoodrich Rugged Trail T/A tires sized P265/70R16 all around. Tires are damage and plug free, and have just about 3,000 miles of use on them.
The bed is solid steel, and does not have any signs of weld in panels or repairs when viewed from the clean, metal underside. The upper section was treated to a light Rhino Liner style coating in a coordinating green, to protect it against normal use and abuse, and given the fact that the bed shows no major dents, dings or damage, it worked!
The truck as a whole does not show any creases, large dents, etc., and maybe 1 or 2 small dings the size of a pencil tip if anything at all.
All exterior lights, bezels, and tail light pieces were new when the resto was done, and still show excellent.
Opening the hood reveals an incredibly clean and detailed engine bay that is just a clean up away from being ready for a car show!
The stock, numbers matching GM 350CID motor was removed from the chassis, and refurbished and painted from the block/heads out.It was running fine prior to restoration, and with just about 71,000 miles on it at the time, was not broken down to internals.
After being cleaned and refurbished with as many new or restored parts as it needed, the engine was set aside for installation later.
Some of the items also replaced at that time were belts, pulley system, steering box, brake booster, fuel pump, alternator, starter, cables, motor mounts, tranny mounts, hoses, and more. It has about 3,000 miles on it since restored, and looks it.
A brand new radiator with rubber support mounts keeps things cool, and the truck stays that way even with the A/C on during a sunny Florida day.
The engine area shows super clean, and other than needing detailed and getting some of the dirt and grime off of it, it is practically show ready!
Transmission is the factory GM 4-speed the truck was born with, and it was also removed and refurbished down to the seals and gaskets before being reinstalled.
It shifts smoothly through each gear, and the new clutch has the full length take-up and action these trucks were known for. No grinding, chatter, or other issues are apparent.
The chassis on the truck was completely stripped, cleaned, dipped, painted black, and treated to all new components to include new power brake parts, lines, ball joints, pitman arm, bushings, shocks, U-joints, nuts, bolts, washers, and cotter pins. It is all less than 3,000 odd miles old!
Chassis still shows wonderfully, and the truck would simply need placed on a lift, wiped down, and cleaned to look almost like new. It does have some tiny marks from road debris, but mostly it is just dirt and water spots.
Underside of cab floor and bed floor is rock solid, and all steel with no issues or items to address.
The exhaust is a true dual set up with new gaskets, hangers, and mounts, and it sounds fantastic with a nice Corvette-like rumble coming through the chrome tips.
The truck does not leak, weep, or mark its territory, even after an extended 60 mile trip. No marks have been left by it on our shop floor.
Inside, the truck is in fantastic condition, and shows no discernible damage to speak of.
Dash pad is clean, solid, and undamaged.
Dash itself is painted to match and shows wonderfully. A full set of replacement gauges looks amazing in the truck, and all appear to be functioning as they should, although we have not taken the time to calibrate each one individually. GPS says the speedo is 5 mph slow when compared to what is indicated, but that is probably a result of the larger aftermarket wheels and tires.
Painted kick panels, door pulls, window rollers, window regulators, carpet, sound proofing layers, fuel tank, seat frame, rear view mirror, armrests, and visors are all in great condition with less than 3,000 miles of use, and show it.
Door panels, headliner, and visors are all in great condition as well, and even the dome light still works as it should!
Seat was completely redone, and looks and sits like brand new, with the exception of a tiny, 1" seam pull on the drivers side edge. This could be repaired easily for a minimal investment when you get it home, or we can arrange it for $75 additional.
Factory tilt column functions as it should, and is topped with the factory steering wheel which is in fantastic condition.
The factory pushbutton AM/FM radio is not functioning at this time, and we have not researched why.
Everything in or on the truck functions as it should, and there are NO gremlins at this time.
All of the wiring was done with a complete new kit from LMC, and includes the fuse block, wires, harnesses, covers, looms, etc.
The dash is treated to a faux wood covering that looks great, and shows only a tiny area where it has bubbled on the top right of the drivers side.
Rubber seals, gaskets, weather stripping, and window fuzzies were all new less than 3,000 miles ago, and still show that way, except for the side window main bottom exterior seals, which were from Brother's, and should be replaced with LMC units due to light brittleness and cracking.
Overall, the inside truly shows like new, with minor, if any, flaws.
This truck drives like a brand new vehicle, because in essence, that it is what it is. From the front to the back, top to bottom, and practically every nut, bolt, and component in between, this truck is a 3,000 mile restored machine!
Engine performs flawlessly. Idles smoothly, and starts with ease warm or cold thanks to the electric choke.
Tranny shifts super smooth in all gears up or down, and has zero issues.
Ride is sublime, with a perfect combination of softness on the highway, and firmness in the corners.
4WD on the truck shifts into each setting, and the manual locking hubs are functioning as they should. Driving the truck on grass let's you know that it all appears to be functioning as it should.
There are no odd handling characteristics, no strange sounds or noises, and no known issues with the truck.
Brakes scrape off speed with ease, and do so without pulling, wander, or excessive fade.
This truck is absolutely gorgeous, and short of the few minor flaws I covered above, is absolutely ready to enter into a local, regional, or National car show as it sits. A detail and some elbow grease will make it look even better, and the truck is dialed in and ready to drive anywhere right now.
