Vehicle Detail
This is a very cool little bike. I acquired it from a lady at work her husband bought it new and has been the only owner. It sat unstarted for 17 years in the garage. I did the usual stuff to get it running.Newer battery, topped off oil, cleaned carbs (they were a mess),cleaned tank, new plugs, and yet the bike refused to start. I had spark, I had fuel, and still nothing. So I started to worry and did a compression test on all 4 cyllinders. Looked good so put everything back together and when doing so found that the plug wires were on wrong!!! Switched them around and it started right up and ran well. Took it for a spin around the neighborhood and fell in love. It is small, quick sporty. Good clean fun. Parked on the walk leading to my front door and when my wife came home she tapped the front tire with the bumper of her SUV knocking the Suzuki over at just the right spot for the porch railing to dent the tank. Funny now but at the time I thought my head was gonna explode. Anyway.... Bike is stock. could be great daily rider. Very easy to restore. Perfect first bike for a kid to build skills on. Always starts right up. Put some air in front tire and you could ride it home. The Bad.....Looks better in pictures than in person. Has that 'i've been sitting in the barn" look. Tires are old. dented tank. Back brake VERY weak. ( May just need to be bled correctly). No turn signals If it was going to keep it I would change all fluids, replace all hoses, buy boot from right carb to airbox (one on it alittle warped and may be causing motor to trun lean.) less than 50$. I would probably adjust the valves also. I think the previous owner (an engineer) did this so I would want to double check his work. (not a hard job-just a little tedious.) So somebody buy this classic and give it a good home. I have good title. Buy it, ride it for a couple seasons, then sell it for what you paid for it.
