1988 Suzuki Samurai diesel project for sale. I am selling my Samurai project due to a move and getting into airplane projects instead of cars. This samurai has had the following done: The original engine was removed and a VW 1.6L diesel out of a VW rabbit was put in its place using an ACME adapters kit. I did a SPOA modification, rebuilt the transfer case (shifts like butter), rebuilt the birfield joints, put aluminum diamond plate in the interior, I built ¼” thick tubing bumpers with LED lights, and added a racing seat as the originals were toast. I don’t have the passenger seat but it was the racing seats that JC Whitney sold for about $130 each. It will need the engine tinkered with to get it running again, it drove around last year but I haven’t cranked it since. It will need the seats installed along with seat restraints, the hard top will need to have latches fiber glassed in. The exhaust system will need to be installed as well as new shocks after the SPOA conversion. I am pricing it for less than what I paid for the samurai alone. Not to mention the $700 adapter kit and the replacement engine. It is priced so that you can put quite a bit into it if you want and still come out ahead if you have looked at diesel Samurai prices. I am not in the location of the Samurai it is a 3 hour drive from when I currently live, but I will be there this weekend to move more items and this is the ideal time to pick it up as I can help with loading/access to property as it is in a guarded area.
