Vehicle Detail
1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7351 Windsor 4 Speed, Posi !!! You are viewing a 1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 (Merc's answer to the Mach 1). Equipped with its original #'s matching 351, totally rebuilt about 10K miles ago. Rare 4 Speed manual transmission, positive traction 411 geared rearend. This car runs incredibly well and has a new 4bbl. carb., aluminum intake, MSD ignition, Hooker Super Competition Headers flowing through a great sounding Flow Master exhaust system. Starts with the turn of the key and settles into a smooth idle. Very powerful. The original 4 speed shifts as smooth as a new one and the clutch engages nice. The car has just had all new brakes, and she has power disc fronts. The car drives straight at any speed and goes down the highway smooth and safe. Still has its correct wheels with a new set of Good Year RWL radials. We still have the original air cleaner and valve covers. This car has had a lot of money invested into it, and when you drive it you'll know! The car was completely disassembled and repainted its original code B Maroon about 10 years ago and still shows very respectfully. The body is very straight. All new weatherstripping. The Eliminator trim was a dealer installed item and includes the rear wing, hood scoop & front spoiler, all painted the correct satin black. The interior is 90% new including, seat covers, headliner, carpet. The Maroon on Black color combo is striking. The chrome on the car is real nice, grille & tail light chrome is clean and shines great. The front bumper has some minor fading as seen in the pics, but it looks much better in person. The trunk, floor pans, frame rails all look great and rust free.We have a thick folder filled with receipts for this car as well as a complete set of shop manuals. This is a great example of a terrific musclecar, anyone would be proud to own. As always ask all questions or come to view, before auctions end.
