Vehicle Detail

This Oldsmobile is a real cutie. It is no wonder why it won a Senior First AACA. The car has been kept in original shape throughout with the old style grease fittings, has tools, a safety kit, and Operation Manuals. Being an Opera Coupe, it has a compartment for champaigne, of course! It also has a tall interior compartment intentionally for the man to be able to wear his top hat. These cars are so rare that it is impossible to get a comparable on this. The 43A series began in 1921 using the "Fantastic Four". The displacement of the engine is 224 CI featuring 3 mainbearings, a 2 stage Zenith SV4 updraft carburator, and was a very advanced overhead valve design that produced amazing horsepower, 40 HP at 2000 RPM. Another Oldsmobile marvel was the use of the Warner 3 speed sliding gear transmission activated by Hoosier single plate dry disc clutch. The styling of this unique automobile included a 3 element windshield that looked aerodynamic. The Top Hat formal passenger compartment makes one feel like they are in a fish bowl since visibility everywhere is amazing. The front passenger seat folds under the dash allowing passengers to enter the rear seating area. This Oldsmobile is a very good touring car. It tracks true, has amazing pulling power on hills, and has amp, speedometer, odometer, and oil pressure cauges that are fully functional. The Oldsmobile just had its top replaced, therefore in perfect condition. The Olds is not a show car, but fantastic "car show" car or tour car. Some of the paint is faded and some parts show cracking. However, the pictures represent what you would see if you inspected the car, very nice! This is a good one, don't pass it up. I may be open to interesting trades. The car may be seen at the Murphy Auto Museum in Oxnard Ca. Merry Christmas, Dana Newquist 805-637-8641
