Vehicle Detail

0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false This is a 1998 BMW 1750IL with 35,000 original miles. It was previously owned by a Investment Banker in Chicago who kept the car in Florida at another home. I purchased it in the fall of 2010. The car was behind on its routine maintenance, here is what I all did (I have all of the receipts). New Brakes (Pads and Rotors) Wipers, Oil, Coolant Flush Removed factory phone wiring harness (it sat in the center council) Replaced headliner and pillar liners (originals were sagging) Replaced all engine intake and throttle body intakes (expense) Replaced trunk struts Removed a variety of door dings (dent less repair) Refinished M Parallel rims Put new tires on (less than 1000 miles on them) There are a couple things that are not perfect on the car (it is 14 years old). I did not repair them, as the cost seemed to outweigh the benefit. Here they are: Glove Box does not always close – one it’s closed, it stay’s closed Sunroof is flakey – I leave it closed Cup Holder is broke closed A couple of the rear shades don’t retract well. I have them all down now Keep in mind, it’s a used car, and so it’s not perfect. I restored it to the point that it is easily a daily driver, looks really good, and has the performance this V12 was to have. These are great cars, and I’ve fallen on the sword and repaired or replaced the expensive items. It can be driven today. All electrical works, Heat and AC works fine. Stereo works, all windows work. Please let me know if you have any questions – I’ve bought a new boat and need the space in the garage that this car is taking up. By the way, if you watch James Bond’s “Tomorrow Never Dies”, this is basically the same car.
