Vehicle Detail
1995 Audi Cabriolet. This is a well maintained daily driver. It needs nothing to drive cross country except gas. It is a used car and has been driven, by me for the last 1.5 years as one of my daily drives to work. It has a well designed 2.6 VW engine. These are very solid engines and go forever with oil changes. They are known to develop oil leaks, this one does leak a bit from the main seal, fix it or put cardboard in your garage. It makes a little lifter noise when cold, which is also common. Transmission shifts fine, but hesitates a little when cold for the first 3 shifts. It's been like that since I have owned it, I just change the fluid (and use mobil 1), the current fluid is about 12K miles old, so it should get a new change in the next 6 months. The top goes up and down manually, the hydralic system doesn't work, looks like aa leaky cylinder on the driver side. Fix it, or put it up and down manually (I do the latter). The top is good, no tears, and the back window is clear. Heated seats don't work anymore, leather seats are dry and cracking. Tires are brand new Dunlops. Literally under 1000 miles and a few weeks old since manufacture, on them as you can see from the DOT tag in the picture. When I changed the tires, one of the rims had a slight bend, so it has been replaced with an OEM rim. K&N air filter. I use only the special blue OEM radiator fluid, and it was flushed about a year ago. A/C works good. Cruise control stopped working a month ago, not sure why (haven't troubleshooted). Stereo is ok, aftermarket speakers in the original spaces, and an aftermarket head unit with a USB port in the glove box (pictured). Body is good, no rust at all. There are some dents, shown in pics as best I could, but the red color visually absorbs dents better than white paint, so you can't see many faults until you really get close. Front end is very tight, because I went through it about 1.5 years ago with new control arms (w/ ball joints), new tie rods, and new CV joints (means I replaced both shafts entirely). I think the front struts are near end of life now, but only because I drive it alot and can tell. Brakes are all new, including new rear calipers, but I have a annoying occasional squeak from the rears, can't do much without replacing the pads again, but they are thick... my fault for not using more break-in (anti squeal) juice when installed. Lights all good, including fog lights. Power windows all work. It has an after market remote system, which sortof works for the locks, but it kindof funky, use it or remove it, but it comes with 2 remotes and extra keys. I have some paperwork with it, like recent receipts for work and parts. Also has original owners manual and folder. Has original spare, first aid kit, and triangle road warning pylon. In summary, its far from perfect, but has no major issues, and can be driven anywhere, as a daily driver.
