Vehicle Detail
HISTORY I inherited this Mustang from my Father a few years ago and do not have the space to store it any longer, so I'm offering it up to the next grateful owner who will appreciate this old classic as much, or more than my Father did. The car was purchased in the mid 1990's from a member of my Father's Mustang Car Club. The Car began it's life as a California original 289 V8 car with Factory AC, and has stayed that way it's entire life. The car is not a frame-off restoration, but has been restored throughout it's lifetime. The car is basically all original and has not been hacked up or pieced together from aftermarket parts. There has been quiet a bit of work done to the car throughout the years and I will do my best to describe the work below. This is a really straight and nice Mustang, but it does need some work as it is still a 46 year old classic. I have the clean CA Title in hand and both original black & yellow license plates. This would be a great daily driver or a perfect starting place for your restored show car. Happing Bidding! INTERIORBlack Vinyl Pony interior with Tan carpet. The vinyl is in ok shape with only one tear on the driver's seatThe Tan carpet is toast and needs to be replacedThe Dash pad is crackedEXTERIOR Car was originally Tan, but was professionally painted inside and out in the 90's to a Ford Black. The Car was re-sprayed two years ago and has been in dry storage sinceThe paint is nice from around 5 feet away and is great as a daily driver, but it is not show quality. The body is super straight, but the clear coat has imperfectionsThe Electric Top works great and was replaced at one time. There are no rips, but the rear vinyl zip out window needs to be replaced and one of the pivot bolts is brokenThe Body is super straight and has never been in an accident that I am aware of or can see any evidence offThe car and undercarriage are super solid and original with no signs of rustDRIVELINEThe 289 V8 was rebuilt back in the 90's and I believe it is now a 296 with roller-rockers as my father once saidThis car was only driven around town over the years so the engine probably has 20K since the rebuildThe engine runs nicely and we recently had our mechanic tune it since it had been sitting in dry storage for the past two yearsNew Spark Plugs, Engine oil primed by hand and cylinders oiled before starting, New Ignition coil, Points, Condensor and all fluids changedNew Exhaust Manifold gasket and Flange gasket, New Motor MountsC4 Automatic Transmission - Not sure if it has been rebuilt, but it works great. Shifts nicely! There is a Automatic Transmission fluid leak which is coming from the power steering rodNew power steering hoses, but the rod needs a seal kit to stop the leak SUSPENSIONStock Suspension with KYB shocksOur Mechanic said that the Driver side Ball Joint needs to be replaced and that everything else looked good BRAKESStock Drum BrakesThe Brakes were just gone through and New Front and Rear Shoes were installed as well as one rear Wheel Cylinder was replacedFluid changed and Brakes bled. They stop well, but there may be an issue with the Booster THANK YOU!
