1970 Mercedes Benz 280 SE Sedan - California Car For Restoration or Parts - Very nice California / Arizona body w/ strong rockers, fender lips etc. Car is located in PEORIA, IL If you are familiar with these cars that have lived in the Midwest and suffered from rust, please look at the photos, there are many possibilites with this car. Salvage title from Arizona, Right front fender has been replaced in the past. Not currently driving, engine currently turns and the car ran when parked about 5 years ago. Water pump is leaking, Transmission has a large front seal leak, power steering pump need rebuilding, heater controls missing, radio missing, rear license plate lights are missing, original rear speakers are missing. Body is strong along rockers, jack points, fender lips, floors, and trunk floors. Also nice door bottoms, see photos. I believe car was repainted once, and is lifting in a few places, see photos. Also has the usually chips and small surface blemishes. A few rust spots to hood where paint is cracked, also rust spot above battery. Bumpers are nice except for pass/front corner has some large pitting. In the interior, Headliner is nice but coming down in the back around rear window. Wood dash will need to be revarnished. About half of the wood trim around the side windows is missing. Top of vinyl dash has cracks and top wood Bow has some damage. Typical hairline cracks to steering wheel. Driver's seats has two rips. Carpet is thinning and will have to be replaced. Left Rear door does not open. Grill is missing small trim bars. Again, great car for restoration or parts. There are not many of these "last of the handbuilt S Class" left that are this rust free to start your next project with.
