Vehicle Detail

1968 VW BEETLE CUSTOM Relisting this nice Bug, this is a car you can drive, use as a second car, send the kids to school, or enjoy it as the custom car it is. Adjusting the price to the best possible sale price with the hope someone will buy the car and be able to really enjoy it. This is a NICE Volkswagen Beetle. This 1968 custom Beetle was a body off restoration and every nut and bolt has been replaced. There is virtually no part of this Bug that did not receive attention and no expense was spared, nor was any attention to detail left out, in making this Bug a like-new custom Beetle. The body received significant attention with a complete restoration of the Floor Pan, including having the entire underside of the pan coated with Rhino Lining. Additionally, all Fenders were Rhino Lined to ensure they remain solid and undamaged. The windows were changed out to One-piece door glass. The front and rear turn signals were shaved and a Billet Pole/Dual Pole antenna was added. The Bug received billet style running boards and aluminum nerf bars. This work was all topped off by hand polished Spies Hecker base coat/clear coat in Volcano Orange. The interior was then treated to a Grant Ralley steering wheel. Hand sewn two-tone carpet, seats, and door panels were added. Billet door handles and window cranks add some sparkle to the interior. To eliminate one of the common complaints about bugs, the heater/defroster system was upgraded and an electric windshield washer system was added. The engine and transaxle is a 1776 cc engine with custom painted fan shroud and engine tin. The 1776 was updated with an Engle 110 camshaft, Mahle 82 mm pistons and liners, polished Big Valve Heads and a Jet Coated exhaust. Top off the drive assembly with a high ratio Free Way Flyer transmission and you have a very solid combination. The suspension was then addressed with front disc brakes and a 3-inch narrowed, adjustable Front Axle beam. This is all tied together with a 2 ½ inch lowered suspension riding on EMPI 5-Spoke Wheels. This excellent Custom Beetle is sold “as is”, “where is” and it’s for sale locally, so I do reserve the right to terminate the eBay listing early should the Bug sell locally prior to reaching the reserve price. Any shipping or other transportation requirements are the responsibility of the buyer. I will do whatever I can to assist with shipping as far as getting the Bug to a local pickup point. If you are not too far from the point of sale, I will entertain delivering the Bug for fuel costs and a return ticket to an airport of my choosing. I’m helping out a friend with the sale, but, as always I’ve nothing to hide and I want to keep my eBay transactions positive for both buyers and myself. So, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask and please e-mail me or call me at 719.749.2nine2four. Thanks for looking. On Dec-05-12 at 09:14:03 PST, seller added the following information: Added Notes: To answer a couple of recurring questions, I’m adding these comments. This Bug IS AS NICE AS IT LOOKS. This car was built for the owner/builder’s wife to drive and no expense was spared, no corners were cut, and it was built with safety and reliability in mind. There are around 5,000 miles on the car, since build. The car was completed about 5 years ago. Because the car came out so nice, the Mrs. didn’t want to use the Bug as a daily driver (the original intent). So, while it’s been driven, it’s never been out in inclement weather and it’s either been in the garage, or heated storage, and has not been left outside for any appreciable length of time. We are working on providing some additional photos of the storage compartment, interior (back seat area), and underside of the car. On Dec-06-12 at 08:37:33 PST, seller added the following information: Additional pictures: Based on several requests, we’re adding some additional pictures to the listing. A number of individuals have asked to see the storage compartment (trunk), underside, and suspension. My apologies to the person wanting to see the back seat area, I failed to get a picture of the back seat of the Bug! As can be seen in the pictures, the underside and the suspension is just as clean as the rest of the car. I can tell you, once again, you will probably not find a Bug any nicer for the money than this example.
