I have a 1979 Honda CX 500 Custom for sale along with a 1978 CX 500 parts bike The '79 has been my weekend cruiser for 12 years putting 15,000 of the 19,000 total miles on the highway. Always garaged, very well maintained, and tuned up every other year (by The Shop in Milw) whether it needed it or not. Brand new battery, newer cables, Metzler tires with plenty of tread, swapped a larger '79 tank on it, otherwise all original. Always starts on the first try, no electrical problems. Very smooth and stable at 80mph yet light enough to be zippy around town. Overall very good condition. Issues affecting condition are: left orange turn signal lens cap missing (ebay $10) 1/2" ball end of front brake lever snapped off (bike was kicked over by a Harley rider at the Harley 100 anniversary) the oil seal on the gear shift lever needs replacing (drips about 3 drops of oil a day, easy fix though) unfortunate dent in the tank (pictured, i'll include the original teardrop shaped blue tank) and that's about it. The CX has a reputation for reliability and this bike had proven it to me. I should mention it has cut pipes, and sounds really good, not as obnoxious as a Harley but similar (better) Also part of the package a 1978 CX 500 parts bike (no title, haven't done a title search either so?) The '78 is not running, I never tried, but appears to be at least restorable if not ready to run after tuning up. Issues affecting condition are: pin hole leak in the gas tank (I have two extra tanks pressure tested to be ok) tires rotted, CDI missing, no battery, ignition keyhole chewed up, otherwise complete and in good shape. I've seen many recent Cafe conversions of CX's that look killer so if that's your idea here go for it - priced to sell! Can deliver for a reasonable price.
