1951 Ford Crestliner You are looking at a 1951 Ford Crestliner. Rare, rare, rare...just over 900 of this model were produced. These cars came from the factory with deluxe side trim on the sides, vinyl roof, special hub caps, and very few color options (I believe there were only five, not sure). This particular one is chartreuse and black. It has a new vinyl roof (same vinyl as factory…very hard to find), and at the time of installation, the rear window rubber was replaced also. New headliner, wind lacing, rear package tray, new carpeting, new side mirror, seats were recovered to original pattern. The interior was redone with the special factory materials required to bring it to original styles (looks like factory installation). The dashboard and window garnish moldings are original factory and are in excellent condition (see pics, no scratches or dents).. It has the original wide whitewalls, full factory wheel covers (special for Crestliner model only). Other options include: three ribbed fender skirts, blue dot tail lights, deluxe radio, chrome headlight rims, and tail light spears, factory chrome interior trim around the front windshield. This car spent its entire existence in South Carolina, but there is some exterior rust on the rocker panels and front fenders that will need attention. Everything on the cars is in working condition, including the interior side dome lights. Powered by a smooth running 239 flathead V8 with a Fordomatic transmission. It has an original 70,000 miles on it. Does not smoke or overheat…quiet as a church mouse. Can hardly hear motor running. New muffler and exhaust system. Six volt battery. These cars are very rare, and sell in excess of $20,000 in nice shape. Wouldn’t take much for this one to be put in show room condition. Included in the sale is a brand new rechromed grille (grille and blinker housings cost was $700).
