Vehicle Detail

I have decided to sell my 2 cars to free up some space in my garage. I will replace the 2 cars with one. This car is a 1956 Imperial sedan bought from the original owner. We have enjoyed this car for 18.5 years. It has some power options like electric seat, windows (all work), antenna, T&C radio (not wking), clock, rear air, and windshield washer on the floor. The a/c is missing the condenser. Everything else is there. I also have hundreds of receipts totalling over $20,000 from the original owner and myself over the years. The most recent work in 2008 was the entire front end and suspension all around. The speedo head was rebuilt, freeze plugs, brake shoes replaced within the last year. I also have an SMS seat cover kit with the original pattern still in the roll and will go to the buyer. It was over $750. Power steering hose was also replaced. Most of the interior chrome has been replaced. The outside chrome is very presentable. The paint is better than average and cleans up nicely. I have always kept it garaged, never driven in wet weather. The paint job was $8500 in 2003. The Coker Classic tires were $1000. The car is lifted in the front to keep the tires from going square. The inside chrome is mostly new. The outside chrome and paint are very presentable. HEMI blocks by themselves bring a lot of dough. So someone will get a great Imperial for a great deal. There is no rust. I also have an extra set of tail lights and the housings included in the sale. These are impossible to find anywhere. I looked for over 10 years for a decent set before I scored. I took a picture of Jay Leno standing next to this car and I will include that as well. **On 8/17/2012 the motor ceased to run. There is bottom end noise and I turned the key off before the motor siezed. So this can still be a numbers-matching car. I have set a reserve appropriate for the condition of the rest of the car's condition, being a 2-owner, and dollar amount of receipts dating from 1956 available to the buyer. This has been a great car, making trips from Orange Cty to Morro Bay, Palm Springs (in July without overheating), and other fun events. Once the motor is rebuilt, this car is ready to go again. I have decide to simplify by keeping 1 car. I may be flexible on this reserve if my other car (Mercedes 300CD) sells for more than expected. Bid to win, not haggle. This is an auction format. So no side deals please. On Dec-01-12 at 07:20:54 PST, seller added the following information: ***The two bidders who cancelled in an effort to discover the reserve have been reported to EBAY officials. EBAY policy is that "wrong amount" cancelled bids are supposed to be resubmitted with the correct amount immediately. Neither one of these bidders did this. Don't make me raise the reserve on this car by trying to screw me over. I have had enough of that lately. I will entertain offers if this car does not meet the reserve. Or I may decide to keep it. I am not being forced to sell either one of these cars.** Buying an old car is upposed to be fun, not devious.
