It is a Model 51 which were constructed from mid-March 1951 to February 1952. All these bodies were split window windshield design and “body bumper” for aerodynamic reasons. These early production cars were built without modern production techniques. They were handmade with metal parts hammered, bent, and cut in order to fit. Porsche had very little money in these post World War II days and had to work with what supplies and materials they had on hand.
