Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1950 Chevy rat rod truck. This truck was completed to this point about four months ago and has been my daily driver/ shop truck since then. It has been a trouble free driver for me but new projects have made me decide to let it go so someone will be getting a very dependable fun truck. The cab and front clip were originally a 1 ton dually utility truck for Johnson County, KS. The lettering is still visible on the doors. It has since been installed on a full S10 chassis. The rustfree S10 floorpan and firewall were also used and grafted into the old cab so everything bolts back to the chassis in the stock location. This is a very nice conversion that was done right. The chassis has 2" drop spindles in the front and lowering blocks in the rear, this thing sits low but has no rubbing or bottoming issues. The engine is a stock fuel injected Vortec 4.3 V6 and the transmission is a 4L60E automatic. I dont know the history or mileage on the engine and tranny but it runs real strong, does not smoke at all and doesnt leak or burn a drop of oil. It has Flowmaster exhaust on it and sounds great. The tranny shifts great and feels strong. The truck has been averaging about 20-22 mpg. The cab and front clip are very solid, I did install new rear cab corners and otherwise no rust. The bed has the S10 bed floor and wheel wells in it and looks good. The rear fenders and tailgate do have some rust but could be patched. The wheels are 15" Chevy rallys all the way around, rears are 10" wide and have brand new tires, front tires are good also. The inside of the cab has all been painted and looks good, everything has been insulated inside and it has all new weatherstrip and anti rattle strips in the doors. The seat has some tears on the driverside and the carpet should probably be replaced. Maroon vinyl door panels and headliner. Original dash with new model GM gauge cluster installed in it and all gauges work. Very nice Pioneer stereo system, CD player. Considering the age of this truck its very quiet and rattle free going down the highway. Side door glass is new on both sides, all other glass is good but rear window is a little fogged, nothing cracked or broken. If your looking for a truck with a ton of character and patina that runs and drives like a newer model truck this is the one for you. I would and do drive this truck anywhere, it will run 85 down the highway all day and draw attention everywhere. Please feel free to call me with any questions 785-423-4730 ask for Matt. Very low reserve.
