NOTES: Look, this Jeep is 24-years old. It’s firmly in the collectible category. As a daily driver, it runs great---I’ve driven it. I had the cooling system serviced for $334 (old hose assemblies replaced), and the A/C updated from freon for $150. If you desire this Jeep to be restored to its full potential, here are a few things we can pass along:
1. AM/FM radio appears to have a tuning issue; radio turns on, antenna deploys and speakers work, but no perceptible sound. Radio is from the factory so maybe an upgrade is required??
2. Cruise Control works intermittently. May need to replace contol on steering column.
3. There is a little bit of play in the front end, however, overall the Jeep handles very well. Acceleration is outstanding, which is a testament to the Inline-6, 4.0L engine! The transmission hits all the gears cleanly.
4. Basically you’ll want to check the Jeep over with your own mechanic. At 24-years, there’s bound to be a few additional quirks. The main thing is that the chassis is remarkably clean, the engine is strong and the transmission is strong. Beyond that, all used vehicles need some investment, and that’s up to the individual---everyone is different in terms of their goals and expectations. The pictures speak for themselves!
