On September, 15, 1981, Patricia Hoffman Long walked into Mark Christopher Chevrolet in Ontario, California in search of a new Camaro. They just happened to have what she was looking for. A new Z/28 with T Tops. This particular car had the factory 4 speed transmission, unusual for a lady, but she fell in love with the new Z and drove it home that day. Her new Camaro had 58 miles on it when she drove it off the lot and she drove the car Sparingly for the next 10 years. In 1991, she parked the Camaro in her Garage and there it sat until just a few years ago when she sold it to the guy that owned the service station that used to change the oil, etc. on the Camaro. When I got the car from him, he told me he thought the miles were original at 27,000. I have no proof of that and I am not totally convinced but it is possible. It has been in Southern California its whole life and it shows. The body is very nice with no rust whatsoever. The floors are also mint and have never seen salt. It appears to still be wearing most of its original paint and I can only find one small blend area near the roof. There is duct tape on the drivers seat where apparently it had ripped at one time. I don't know if the original owner or the second owner did that. The drivetrain is original and still runs and drives excellent. The original four speed shifts great and the engine runs great with no smoking or noises. I have a lot of the original paperwork that came with the car and the original California plates and dealer frames are still on the car! This is a very nice unmolested Z/28 four speed.
