Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1971 MGB that has been a project of mine for quite some time now. Now I have taken a job 5,000 miles away and when I come home I just want to play with my other toys and finish up one of my last bigger projects. The restoration on this car is 99% complete and everything you need is there to finish. You could honestly be driving this car to car shows a week after you got it home! You do not have to be a mechanic to finish this car, all the hard work has been done! Below I will list all that's new and what needs to be done. The engine was rebuilt professionally in the late 90's and never driven and the previous owner lost interest in the project. It had an oil pressure gauge under the hood because it needs the line replaced to the dash. Oil pressure and compression are both very good! About a year ago I painted the car and had the interior professionally installed. The car looks VERY SHARP and what I got helled up on was the windshield, I put a new one in with a new rubber kit but to actually get the windshield in the car with the frame on, it takes like 10 hands and I always seem to be by myself. The windshield is just sitting in place in the pictures. I did not have the right dash cover when the interior was put in but I do now and it's included with the sale. They're easy to install and look really good. I also have a new top that has yet to go on the car and is still in the box. The seats are just sitting in the car and either need bolted down or use the original seat rails. Also included is the old black and tan interior that is in poor shape. I put new disks and pads on the front and the brakes worked just fine before I did that. I never bled the brakes and there was a lot of fluid loss so now there is no pedal pressure but there isn't anything wrong with the system. Otherwise the car runs and drives well, I drove it to get the paint job done but only maybe 10 to 20 miles. You will need to plug back in some of the wires/ signals, all the lights were taken out for paint so it would be a nice job. I have the wipers and arms, they look "ok" but could use paint to be the quality of the rest of the car. The trunk has a bunch of spare parts in it (took out for the pics) mostly new rubber, seatbelts and other interior parts. I also have the original air cleaners if you want them...they are poorly painted red and if you want them then I want to keep the chrome ones for another car. I have a spare wheel for the car but it's painted the original silver. The new parts on the car are; 4 tires, paint, windshield and rubber, knock off spinners, dash and top still in boxes, interior, window cranks, brake disks and pads, drivers bullet mirror, wood steering wheel, both bumpers and I have new rear bumper uprights in a box, grill is new but not correct for this year. The only flaw I see on the car is a small chip missing out of the top of the right rear tail light lense. This car would make a great easy project for a father and son or Christmas present with a big red bow on the hood! Car sells as is where is, feel free to ask questions or come take a look at it prior to bidding. Please only bid if you're ready to buy. Thanks, Happy Bidding!!! Car is relisted at no reserve and will sell to the highest bidder...just don't have the time or space for an extra toy right now!
