Vehicle Detail
One Owner 2004 Jetta TDI 4-Door Sedan Turbo Diesel. 201k miles. Clear Title. Never wrecked. Female Owner. Has Transmission issue that will need to be addressed soon but car does crank and run fine currently. (SEE BELOW) Always dealership maintained (have service records). Was never taken to third party for any repair or oil change. Vacuum Hoses and right axel just recently replaced. Also has newer glow plug. Interior will be steam cleaned prior to sale. Exterior has some cosmetic knicks consistant with age with a missing chrome trim piece on passenger side as well as one VW center cap on one wheel. This car also had a roof rack and shows some scratching where it was installed. Trailer hitch NOT being sold with car unless requested. TRANSMISSION ISSUE: I recently had it diagnosed for a transmission issue after it had a hard time switching out of first gear during very cold starts. Problem goes away once car is sufficiently warmed up, or if allowed to warm up prior to driving. I brought it in to have it diagnosed and they are thinking it is a trans fluid issue...but since they could not 100% guarantee that that repair would work, the dealership had to recommend that I replace the transmission entirely. It was explained to me that VW considers their transmission units "for life" of the vehicle and they are not authorized to do repairs to them. It was their opinion that the car would run in its current condition for some time, but eventually the transmission would need to be replaced. I am no longer using it as my daily driver, but it still runs, with no lag in gear shifting, when warmed up. Possible solutions that have been proposed by dealership: Replace with used or new automatic transmission or to exchange for a cheaper manual transmission. You can research these options on your own. Could make great first car for someone. If you have questions I will be happy to answer them. Do not bid on this vehicle if you have less than 10 positive feedbacks or your bid will be deleted.
