He said just got tired after 7 years of work and spending over $11,000, (which is much more than the reserve). Money seemed to be of no object because he bought brand new parts when ever he could. The fenders and running boards were new from LMC at over $2,000. Even the leaf springs, brake drums, and most chasis parts that move were replaced with new. He told me that the engine was thoroughly machined and rebuilt (you can see new .010 pistons with a flashlight through the spark plug holes). The transmission and rear end were also said to be rebuilt and look like it. I had the starter, generator, and carburetor overhauled and installed. The tires, hubcaps, and trim rings are new (the whitewalls are Porto-walls). I belieive that to restore an engine, drive line, and chasis to a high level like this one that you could invest well over $10,000 including labor. This truck has an interesting and unusual history. It was bought new by the city of Port Huron, Michigan where it was kept in the city barn most of the time for many years. It was originally yellow but was painted green long ago. I had planned to paint it red but don't have time. Since the years with the city it has remained indoors. The original glass, rubbers, dash and guages are all in amazing condition. Because of their gloss black original paint with no rust, I thought the original seat frame and springs, and the gas tank were new aftermarket. Even the bed floor is rot free and the exterior body paint has little surface rust . The problem was that salt obviously was not washed out of the front and rear cab corners. I've pictured the new corner and floor repair panels that came with it. Rather than list all the parts I've taken photos of everything. The major new body and interior parts are: all new fenders new running boards all new interior (LMC seat cover set, carpet, headliner, etc.) bed floor kit including all wood, metal slats, and fasteners wiring harness fender skirts cab and bed mounting kit misc. I can't guarantee that every part is there, but I think its close. A good used black tailgate is inclued but not pictured. The data plate is a reproduction from Classic Chevy with the correct rivits to install after painting the cab. The serial numbers match a good clear Michigan title. I hauled everything on my 16' car trailer and in my pickup. I will be glad to help the buyer pack it all for transport. Once paid for within 7 days, it could could be picked up anytime up to 30 days.
