This is a very original 72,000 mile car that retains all of it's original sheet metal. The car is basically rust free with the exception of surface rust in the areas photographed. I have owned over 25 67-68 fastbacks over the last 23 years and I have to say this is one of the cleanest and most original cars I have come across. The car is an original highland green color. The interior is all original including the seat covers. It has been painted once and I'm guessing it was a while ago. It still looks great but I would consider it in driver condition. One of the most amazing things about this car is the underside. It still has all the original metal and most of it is still wears the red oxide from the factory. The engine runs very strong (2 BBL) and starts right away every time. It doesn't smoke (even after it hasn't run in a week) and it doesn't burn any oil. The trans is the original C4 and it shifts great. The drive train is original to the car. The engine tag is still on the front of the block. I don't think any panel has ever been off the car including all the fender bolts. Notice in the trunk (rust free) that the rear light buckets still retain the original plastic caps on the screws. All the lights work. The brakes are front disc in the front and drum in the back (power brakes). They are in good working order. This car doesn't have a lot of options but it is a great solid piece of history. I doubt very much that there are many cars that have survived like this one. I would consider it a survivor car but some say because it has one repaint that it doesn't meet that description. I don't really care, it's a great car. If I were to keep it I would put new weather stripping on the doors and replace the door handle inside the driver side. The bumpers are also originals. Have you ever seen a reproduction bumper? They don't fit very well! I don't have to sell it but I want to make room because I'm restoring two cars and could use the space. If you have any questions at all please ask before you bid. I don't mind telling you everything about this car and I want the bidders to be well informed. I have priced this with the fact that the car is pretty much untouched. Can you buy a fastback for less? Sure you can but they are only original once. Buyer pays shipping. The car will leave my possession once the funds are secured in my account. I will post a video once I figure out how to do it. I uploaded several high res images of the underside covering the rear frame rails, front end, battery tray, lower doors and the cowl vents. I couldn't access the cowl vents very well as the car is on a lift but they are rust free. The battery tray is pretty amazing. It looks like someone was smart and didn't store the car with the battery in the car. Also, the car was in southern Virginia it's entire life before it became a weekend summer cruiser. That is where the DSO was for the car.
