Vehicle Detail
This 1974 BMW Tii was my daily driver for a while, but is currently NOT RUNNING. There is a problem with the ignition switch. I don't know if that car has 57,000 or 157,000 miles, but the car spent most of it's life on the east coast and has very little rust. I think the car may have been in an accident involving the front left of the car. The left door is a little crooked (the reason the chrome is off) and the hinge appears to have been re-welded (see pictures). The car has the following issues which will need to be fixed before driving it long distances: There is a minor leak in the heater core or a hose that causes the inside of the windows to fog up when parked for an extended period of time. The fuel injection is running very rich (about 10MPG) and needs to be rebuilt. A previous owner installed a 5 speed transmission without the correct parts and the bell housing rubs against the steering linkage. There is problem with synchromesh in the trans, but I am including a rebuilt 5 speed transmission that I was going to install. The trunk smells like gasoline which likely means the seals around the fuel tank needs to be replaced. The front right seatbelt is missing and left needs to be replaced. No lock on the left door. Other non-critical issues: The AC doesn't work (compressor is seized). The fog lights don't work. The clock doesn't work. Minor rust spots on rear rocker panels. Paint is oxidized. I have attempted to be honest in this description but please don't think this car is a lemon. It's in great condition for it's age and only needs a little work to get it back to daily driver status. I am including a number of parts worth a few thousand dollars: Recarro seats, rebuilt 5 speed transmission, replacement AC panels, spare bumper, replacement chrome pieces. These are the parts I collected and was going to install on the car. This is a no reserve auction but I will accept $4,000 cash in person and end the auction early. I will be available any time during the auction if you want to stop by and check it out. The car is in Riverside, California.
