Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 0 1 413 2359 Beckwith Crowe 19 4 2897 11.1287 0 0 0 2 Owner 1981 Porsche 911SC, with excellent history. 83,000 original miles, original paperwork, ownership history and maintenance records to document these miles. Southern California doctor owned car until (70,000 miles) 2001 where the car moved to the Midwest where it was driven sparingly and never saw snowflakes. This is a rust free car and the underside, including the factory undercoating are in excellent condition and show no signs of damage or wear that might indicate future rust problems. The 3.0L is original and runs very strong. Recent maintenance includes new belt, fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. The valves we recently adjusted and new silicone gaskets were installed along with all new oil return tubes. Does leak a small amount of oil when parked just not from the valve covers or oil return tubes. The clutch is strong and it shifts through all of the gears nicely. The brakes are newer and work well. The two rear tires were replaced 3 years ago and the front tires have decent tread but should be replaced due to age. This Porsche has factory Air conditioning but it is not hooked up at this time. All electronics work, which include the cruise control. The rocker switch for the passenger side window sticks occasionally when rolling up the window from the driver’s side, I will include a replacement rocker switch at the auction close. The interior is in excellent original condition, there are no cracks or fading to the dash, gauges or black leather, there is minimal wear to the drivers side bolster (see picture). The black bumper over riders, rubber seals and gaskets are all in very good condition. The body lines are straight and the doors open and close good. There is a small 1/4 in rock chip under the headlight (see picture) there are also a few small chips on the doors but no dents. The Targa top is in excellent condition and seals water tight nicely. There is a small air leak that you can hear when driving on the interstate coming from the drivers side ¼ window. It’s my understanding that there is a height adjustment that will solve this. The car was professionally repainted in the late 1990’s and you have to look very close to see any evidence that it has been repainted. It was going to have drivers side door repainted because there is a small area where the re-paint is beginning to crack and peel. I touched it up in order to prevent it from getting worse. I have estimates to have this work completed for $600 - $800 at this time I have decided to sell the car without performing any paint repairs. I believe it is best to leave these cosmetic repairs up to the discresion of the buyer. If my reserve is not met, I will make these repairs and sell the car in the spring. This Porsche is 32 years old and is being sold as is. Use your judgment and if you have concerns, please feel free to have the car inspected. This car is being sold locally and I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time. The SC (Super Carrera) represents one of the best series of Porsche and features a bulletproof drive train derived from the turbo Carrera. The SC is hard to beat as it has the lowest maintenance cost of any 911 model.
