Vehicle Detail
The car that put Germany back on wheels, the 190 was both reliable and comfortable, and thanks to traditional German engineering, virtually indestructible. This 1961 Mercedes-Benz 190 sedan is a solid car that just needs some TLC. It shows about 60,000 original miles and has just a single repaint over a very straight body. It does not currently run, but the engine turns easily and given these cars' track record of reliability, it probably won't take much to put it back into running condition. The interior appears to be original and in outstanding condition, with all the gauges intact and the plastic trim in presentable condition. Underneath it's a bit crusty as you'd expect, but there's no serious structural rust and all the pieces are there, although a new exhaust system might be in the car's near future. Modern 13-inch whitewall radials have been fitted and it does have all four color-matched hubcaps. An interesting and unusual hobby car, these are remarkably simple to work on, parts are readily available, and you'll probably have the only one at any show you attend. A big bargain on the littlest Mercedes. For more information, call Lee at 216-496-9492 or E-mail LWolff@mbjmanagement.com.
