Vehicle Detail
Four consideration is a 1970 E type 2+2 coupe that has been re listed due to the unfortunate wasted time of a non paying buyer... This car was neglected for the past 6 years or so by the previous owner. It is reported to have originally been a southern car but has most recently resided in the north east. At one time, this car had extensive work performed including the installation of a non-original engine, and was reported by the prior owner to be running well about 6 years ago. This car is not now a running car and it is not registered, nor is any documentation is available as to when it was last registered. In addition to a non-number matching engine, this car is reported by the previous owner to also have a non-matching number transmission from another XKE. At the point when the engine was changed, the brakes were up rated with have stainless braided lines. This car will need a general restoration inside and out and much of the interior will need to be redone, including the front seats and dash cover, but it does come with a replacement rear seat. The body, bonnet and inner and outer rockers are generally very sound, however there is rust-through at the front of the floors. The glass is all good and this car comes with what looks to be almost a complete new rubber and weather seal kit, including new front and rear windshield seals and many other rubber trim pieces. The trunk floor is sound and the frame straight. The engine turns freely and the carbs open freely, but no attempts have been made to start the engine. This auction will be with no reserve and sale will be completed with a bill of sale only, as CT is a non-title state for cars manufactured prior to 1981. If you are looking for an E type, this car would surely represent a viable entry level opportunity at an extremely modest investment. Payment can be made in person with cash, bank check or wire transfer, but this car cannot be released until all funds have cleared. Bidders with negative feedback will be cancelled if not cleared in advance. This car is intended for sale in the US only, as stated above, it will be sold with a CT bill of sale only. A nonrefundable deposit of $500 must be received within 24 hours of transaction, or sale will be cancelled, negative feedback assigned and car resisted. If you have negative feedback, or no feedback, or if you are listed as outside of the USA, your bid will be cancelled. Again, please note that if you are the successful bidder, a deposit of $500 must be received within 24 hours. You must also completely pay for and pick up the car within one week, or some other reasonable time, mutually agreed upon in advance. Thank you and good luck.
