Vehicle Detail
0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false 1971 Mercedes 300 SEL Developed in 1967, Mercedes mated the 6.3L drivetrain from the 600 Pullman limousine into an extended length sedan, providing high performance in a lighter-weight sedan. This particular Mercedes features a silver exterior with black leather interior. It shows just 43,674 kilometers on the odometer. The instrument panel is set-up with gauges in metric and wording in German. All systems were tested (instruments, lights, wipers, clock, tachometer, etc.) and observed to be operational. Additionally, the car features air conditioning and the original Becker Mexico stereo radio with cassette player, both of which are operational. Condition: This car is in overall excellent condition for a now forty-one year old classic Mercedes. The paint is stunning in its silver and the interior presents itself very well. The front seats have been reupholstered in leather that is a close match to that featured on the rear seats which appear to be in good, original condition. There is one minor imperfection in the body that bears noting, a quarter-inch flaw at the base of the driver’s door (see photo). Likewise, there are three minor imperfections in the interior that bear noting: a small crack in the top, center of the dash, a small crack on the driver’s door trim, and a small cut in the headliner (see photo) presumably made to repair the sunroof. The wood, however, is in very good condition with only minor signs of fading. This car rides comfortably on a hydropneumatic suspension which features new air bags and valves installed by the prior owner. When parked for an extended period, the system will leak down; however, it almost instantaneously returns to standard operational height once the car is started. Additionally, the car features new Bosch European styled headlights as well as new Continental tires with wider wheels and new wheel covers. This car is an excellent road car and is being sold as the owner’s present commute is a mere half-mile from his home. As such, the car is not being enjoyed to its full potential. The car is located and may be seen in Athens, Georgia. It is sold with a clear title and transportation will be the buyer’s responsibility. A modest reserve has been set, providing an excellent opportunity to make this classic 6.3 L Mercedes yours Please email with any inquiries.
