TRANSMISSION JUST GAVE OUT LAST WEEK - SUSPECTED CLUTCH PROBLEM (NOT PROFESSIONALLY DIAGNOSED). VEHICLE IS ABLE TO BE MOVED EXTREMELY SHORT DISTANCES. After a week of deliberation, "Priscilla" is up for sale. I have no time to fix this car, and in an apartment complex, nowhere to do it. But, the lucky winner is going to pick and pull a transmission, swap it over a weekend, and end up having a fun car! This 1988 Cadillac Brougham was my faithful driver for four years, gone back and forth between Dallas and Houston at least a dozen times, and back and forth from San Antonio at least three. Last week, the transmission failed, and my loss will be someone's gain. If you are looking for a museum piece, move on to another car. If you want a fun driver that turns heads, this is your car! I am the third or fourth owner of this northern car, originally from upstate New York. The following has been done since I have owned this car: New Radiator New 180 Degree Thermostat New Water Pump All New Belts and Hoses Remanufactured Valve Heads and Valves New Alternator New A/C Compressor New A/C Fan and Relay Rebuilt Carburetor New EGR and O2 Sensor New Front Brakes (from the Proportioning Valve forward) New Front Shocks ("Level Ride" Rear Shocks are Operational) New Front Bearings New Rear Drums, Hardware, and Shoes (Will Need New Shoes) New Power Antenna Rebuilt AM/FM Cassette Stereo with Hard Wired MP3/AUX/3.5 mm Input Jack (Note the jack placed in the front ashtray handle). New Headliner Material in place (the hard board was cracked, I have double sided taped it to three rods in the roof - looks respectable, but will vibrate in the wind at 70 MPH with the windows down) Original Trunk Pull Down Motor and Trunk Release is Operational New Paint Job (a three day turn around - looks respectable from 20 feet, but there are some flaws). New Tires (with full size spare). Now, the bad (which isn't too bad, save for the transmission): Again, the transmission will need to be serviced and addressed. It will go about 10 miles an hour at very high RPMs on level grade. It will not make it up a hill. It seems like the clutch or torque converter is the culprit, but again, I have not had this diagnosed. The opera lamps are not working (likely the 110 volt inverter). The taillight marker lamp has a melted around the bulb from having the wrong adapter on the car. and the bulb getting too hot and melting it. Not visible at all from the outside, but the bulb does not seat in the housing anymore - it's taped in to position. Fuel line patched underneath the passenger front door. Functioning fine and not leaking, but will let off some fumes after freeway driving. Disconnected front ashtray lighter - there is a short in that circuit that trips when it is used, so I disconnected it. Missing chrome trim on two driver doors (see photos). Ashtray mount screws and corresponding holes on the trim on driver rear door are missing. Front driver's seat belt buckle is broken. Intermittent window switch failure in the passenger rear door (it always works from the driver's master window switch panel). The passenger low beam headlight goes out when the high beams are activated (it works fine in low beam). Rear "cat eyes" not working - passenger side severed, driver side dim due to LED versus incandescent bulb use). Raindrop trim on passenger side is slightly loose in the back (been like that for four years - does not leak at all, just something that needs to be pushed in after a car wash). Master Cylinder lid doesn't fasten on two of the four lips (it is zip tied shut for safety). $500 Non-Refundable Deposit will be due within 24 Hours of Auction Close, with the remainder due in 72 hours by cashier's check or PayPal.
