For sale: 1993 Volkswagen Eurovan MV Details: 165,600 miles Locally owned since new. Non-smokers Camper-capable layout: large folding bench seat, removable captain’s chairs, built in folding table, interior fluorescent light, sliding side windows, huge cargo space. 5-speed manual transmission Audi 5 cylinder motor; 18 mpg hwy; 14 city (smooth and strong – interstate speeds are not a problem) New 6-ply tires, new radio Front and rear AC (works well) Power steering, Power brakes, Power windows/mirrors, Cruise control Previous owner was a master foreign car mechanic. Timing belt and water pump have been replaced. Clean title – VIN # WV2MC0708PH038653 (Vehicle history report will be made available shortly.) Discussion: My wife and I bought this car in March, 2011 with the intention of completing the transition to a camper. I drove this car this car daily and liked it a lot! However, I injured my left foot, which will take the better part of a year to heal. It is painful for me to shift gears. I drive an automatic transmission now. Problems: (Who wouldn’t expect a few problems with a car 20 years old this month?) The power steering whines, but functions properly. There are some minor rust spots which have been treated with a polymer rust converter/sealer. (See detailed pictures) The top of the car needs a paint job. (I was going to paint it with marine/epoxy white with a brush.) The rearview mirror on the passenger side does not work. (Can be adjusted by hand) While there is a new radio/CD player, not all the speakers have been connected. The cloth upholstery is faded and worn, but there are no tears or rips. Some of the minor plastic parts, such as handles, cup holders, etc. are broken, but are still available in catalogs. More pictures and info. available upon request
