Well, I am havimg to relist my bus because of a flakey buyer, so here it is again....This 1963 custom walk through crew cab was the project of a couple So Cal VW guys that were building it as a show truck and I bought if off of them when they needed money for a 23 window project..... This Custom crew is chopped from and old panel I believe and was on its way to being show worthy.... The fellas had planned to chop the roof and put a 23 window roof on with pop our front windows, which would have been super cool.... My favorite thing is the bed though and the deep pocket behind the cab.... it needs a couple small repairs on the low bed area but has so many different potentials for restore with its big open space.... I really know nothing about VW's, other than the split windows are sweet collectors items and this one is one of a kind.... This bus is like a transporter but custom walk through and different bed structure make it unique and a great canvas for the true collectors of classics... If I didnt need the money, would love to have completed their plans for it.... Following Is all the info I have on the bus....... Please feel free to ask any questions and I will answer promptly to the best of my ability The bus has a 1600 dual port engine that gets 25-30 mpg Has set of flipped spindles which lowers it 3 inches front and back Converted to 12vt battery Was primered but quick paint was thrown on before bodywork was all done for daily driving during restoration.... Not a good paint job up close bunch of clear coat that needs sanding or just repaint your choice of color..... body work is most of the way done it seems, but definitely needs work in places.... Its badass for fifty years old though New brakes were installed New carb New front bumper New rear pressed number from Resto Jonny New rear deck lid with 3rd brake light New headlights, tail lights and turn signals New polished belt line trim New vinyl cover over bed New custom exhaust New rear pop out frames and rubber.... have the old windows too, just need to take the glass out Now for the things it needs...... side windows put back in.... I think they are all their except for sliders up front.... All the handles are off right now too but have them in a box, some new...Have a new headliner kit that needs to be installed, needs wipers installed and also have extra vynil that matches the bed cover in case anyone wants to do interior or door panels the same.... needs a couple little floor patches inside but minor.... Interior needs painting and door panels, and bed needs to be finsihed to whatever owners choosing is..... I have no idea what the mileage is on this vehichle and I don't think the gauges are hooked up...... What I do know is the thing runs great and turns lots of heads for sure!!! Hopefully someone will want to finish this custom restoration, but if not it makes a great daily driver getting the gas mileage it does 25-30MPG....
