Vehicle Detail
A super rare vehicle! A German-exported 300TE Sportline 24-Valve Wagon with cloth and no sunroof with manual rear windows, in super clean shape! Truly a remarkable combo! Special important note to eBay Moderators and Customers: Please notice that the VIN # is not correct in the above section. The correct VIN number according to the car and the Texas title is WDB1240911F197677. eBay would not accept this VIN because their automated system which is powered by AutoCheck could not find records of it. Strange, because MBZ dealerships, CarFax and also several specialty Benz websites have clear and concise proof of this car's VIN being valid (Some of which I have included in the pictures section, and another which I have supplied a link to for you to see for yourself). This vehicle has been imported from Germany in 1999 and as such, a VIN number was designated for it by the Department of Transportation. We have the proof that in 1999 it was admitted into the U.S., and was also declared by the D.O.T. to have met highway safety regulations. Bond was released and a U.S. title was issued. Moderators, we have already spoken to eBay motors about this issue and have acquired permission to sell this vehicle as such, since it meets all safety regulations and also has been issued a valid, clear Texas title. Out of country buyers: You are welcome and encouraged to bid on this car! We have plenty of experience with buyers from Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and much of Europe and the East. We respect your bid just like we do the U.S. bidders. Thank you! Vehicle is being offered at absolute auction, there is no reserve. We are confident that this beauty will bring the right price. We do these no reserve auctions to encourage bidding and because we are confident of the caliber of automobile we are selling. Also, nobody wants to place a bid, only to be turned down by the preset reserve price. She is THAT pretty. Lots of high resolution pictures and 3 Videos (If you do not see the 3 videos below the pictures section, please check back in a few hours and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, as we will add an update. Currently youtube is having slow uploads and our video is in high resolution. They should be up within a few hours of this posting.) Just scroll down! 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300TE Sportline wagon 24 Valve (300TE-24) - Rare cloth seating, no sunroof, full Sportline suspension and sport chassis - A truly spectacular specimen, and the only one like it in the U.S. that I have come across. I have searched high and low and have not found one with these specifications here in the U.S. - This is truly a one of a kind car. *Car has been home in California and Austin, TX. most of its life. A gorgeous rust-free Mercedes! *Excellent ride, power and drivetrain. A rare German beauty to behold. Runs excellent, no warning lights are on, Cold A/C. *It is extremely rare to find a Mercedes of this vintage and rarity in such clean and healthy shape. Hello there eBayers, here is a true beauty. It is such a nice car, that there isn't really much to say about it other than it is near flawless for it's year. We are in the business of finding true collectible vehicles and offering them for sale here on eBay. Aside from some cars in my personal collection that we have sold on eBay, every now and again we come across something that we believe you may appreciate. We have sold quite a number of vehicles on eBay, all with positive feedback. (Credentials can be supplied on request.) Since we are in the business of finding true collectibles, the title is handed to us by the previous owner and remains a true one owner car until you purchase it from us. Please see Title section below for specifics regarding title transfer to you. It's an easy process and title is again, in our possession and ready to be transferred to you. Description: I'd like to mention that in the pictures section, I have included a picture of the Title, and also of the website which I pulled specs to show that it is a true sportline. The Sport chassis, AMG small diameter wheel and also the sport wheels denote sportline authenticity. In additon, for a TON of information, please contact me (since eBay will not allow links) and I can supply an additional website that will show each and every option this specific car has. It quite literally has a TON of info on this car's loadout. This car is super clean, but please read on: Drivetrain: Excellent. This car drives and looks like a 50k mile car. She does have 230k miles, but as most Mercedes owners know, these "last of the overengineered Benzes" can really, really go the distance. I believe she just got warmed up and the previousl owner (as myself) must have really loved this car to donate her to a good cause. No leaks, motor is smooth as silk (see video), A/C blows cold and there are no maintainence issues that need to be addressed. Sportline self-leveling suspension and components and steering are tight and crisp with no looseness to be seen or felt. 4-speed automatic transmission is healthy and shifts gears well. Please see video to hear the smoothness of the engine and the absolutely symphonic exhaust note. Even the head of Mercedes-Benz recently stated that the 124 chassis were some of the most durable, best cars they ever built. Also, he lamented at the fact that they realy don't build them like this anymore. Still not convinced? Try watching a top gear or fifth gear youtube episode on the 300 or 124 series. They are like tanks! OH! I almost forgot... the exhaust note is to DIE for... watch the video. These 24-Valves drive like nothing else. This rare 24 valve motor is a rival even to today's Benzes. Body: This vehicle, from all accounts and evidence is rust free. Being a California and Texas car most of it's life, she has been kept away from the salt and ice. The paint is very good, and there are no dings or dents other than a couple small dings on the passenger door and a 2-inch crack on the front air dam on the passenger side which has been repaired by the previous owner. It is not very visible. Interior: Clean, clean, clean. Never been smoked in. The cloth interior is beutiful. This interior is original and 100% awesome. Try finding Cloth like this in any Mercedes... it just almost can't be found in the U.S.. Almost all of these cars came with leather or MB-Tex Vinyl, and for the true car collector a vehicle with these specs is indeed rare. Again, the pictures say it all. Carpet looks new, as does headliner, visors, etc. There are no cracks on the dash. The only item of concern I see is that one of the air vents in the center has lost its horizontal leuvers. I personally prefer cloth because not only is it more comfortable, it is also more suited to keeping you planted in the seat during corners. Tires: Tires are in healthy shape and look good. I'd rate the tread at 70% or more life left. Electronics & Electrics: Everything works and is healthy and functional. All windows, knobs, switches, everything. Please note that the rear windows are manual Title: Good blue title. We purchased this car from a specialty wholesale auction that benefits charity and the like. We are licensed dealers in Texas who deal in special one of a kind classics and similar vehicles. If you wish to keep the car in Texas, you must pay taxes and title fees for us to transfer the title into your name. If you live outside of Texas or want the car to be registered outside of Texas, then we can make arrangements and to the best of my knowledge, there will be no fees or taxes until you register and title the vehicle in your home state. Deposit and payment: Deposit of $500 is due immediately after auction end to our PayPal account. If you cannot make immediate deposit, please contact us before bidding. Remainder is due within 3 days, and again, if you cannot make this happen, please contact us first. Chances are good that we can come up with an agreement. Storage and Pickup: We can store the vehicle for a period of 14 days for you. If you need longer, please contact us first, I'm sure we can make arrangements usually at no additional cost.
