Up for your consideration is a very nice and ORIGINAL 1968 Chevy Short Bed These trucks are near impossible to find in this condition, and especially LOADED from the Factory! This is a 68 all original and I’m the 3rd owner on this truck, the only reason I am selling it is because I finally have the chance to purchase another truck I’ve been after for about half of my life. This truck is all original and I would say 98% Rust Free. All of the original panels and sheet metal line up great and the body itself only has a few minor dings in it nothing major, no big dents in the body. The biggest is about a golf ball size just above the right bed raid by the rear window. The only other spot of rust that is through the metal is right under the passenger INNER Fender Well, not the outer fender (that one is SOLID), it’s right under the battery tray but nothing major and you can’t even see it if you aren’t looking for it. All of the bed rails are there but the wood is gone, easy fix. This is a beautiful “Patina” 68 and it’s ready for your finishing touches. It has the original Build sheets under and behind the seat and it also has the original SPID in the glove box. It came from the factor and still has all of its original parts including a Complete 327 V8 with the original 3 speed on the truck (Matching #s), Factory air conditioning (All Complete and still there, no belt on it), Soft Ray tinted glass, Custom Trim options (All of the trim is in great shape! Very few dings in the aluminum and it still shines great), factory power steering, factory power brakes, heavy duty rear springs, MANUAL THROTTLE OPTION (EARLY FORM OF CRUISE CONTROL), deluxe horn cap… We all know how hard it is to find a truck with all of these rare options let alone documented and on a truck that is nearly rust free! It also has the bulls eye reverse lenses which are original and hard to find since they don’t reproduce them! The truck starts up every time with a few pumps of the gas pedal. Shifts into every gear well and drives well, haven’t driven it very far just a couple of miles around the house. DOESN’T SMOKE AT ALL! The original paint still looks good and it’s perfect Patina paint for a great shop truck. The tail gate how no Bowing in it at all, It’s very nice. The body lines up great on the truck. I have nothing bad to say about this truck, the only minor issues are: The hood latch spring is broken so the spring needs to be replaces (5 Bucks), and at some time the seat was recovered and the material is worn (So would need a new seat cover if you don’t like the one on it) this is why the hood sits a little up, once this is fixed it will sit PERFECT and FLUSH Pros: · Documented Short Bed 68, has the original SPID in the glove box (115 wheel base) and build sheets under and behind the bench seat springs · Original Paint with great Patina · 98% rust free · Factory 327 (matching #) · Factory 3 Speed on the tree that still shifts well · Starts Right up · Nice 6 Lug rally rims with very nice beauty rings · Factory Power Brakes · Factory Power steering · Factory Throttle control (early cruise control) · Factory soft ray windows all the original windows (Front does have a crack in it) · The padded dash is MINT (not a single crack in it and it still looks great” · Factory Air Conditioning with COMPLETE components inside the cab and the motor compartment · 118,000 Original Miles · The original Floor mat doesn’t have a crack in it! Just faded a bit · The dash is in great shape! Paint is still very nice (Original owner use to write down the mileage and oil change times on the dash with sharpie, Very cool so it’s still there but can be easily cleaned with alcohol) · Starts up and drives, doesn’t smoke (A tune up would be nice) · Tail gate and other sheet metal on the truck are in great Straight shape! · Deluxe Horn Cap · Original Door panels are in AWESOME shape and near perfect with the exception of 1 single rip near one of the screw holes (very minor) · Original visors are crack free and in great shape · Original seat belts and retractors are in great shape and still strong (not cracked) · Rockers and Cab corners are SOLID · Original Manuals inside the glove box · ORIGINAL BLACK AND YELLOW CALIFORNIA PLATE TRUCK BOUGHT IN FRESNO, Ca and it even has the factory license plate frame on it! · Clear Pink slip and never been wrecked Can use some wood in the back but all of the rails are still there as is the hardware, the truck originally had a wrap around bumper which was originally bolted into the lower rear quarters so you can see the small holes on each of those sides (easy fix). If this is true, that's pretty amazing.
