Vehicle Detail
This is a wonderful bike. Completely ready to ride anywhere and anytime. I've had it about three years. It started life as an R100 but the cowling has been removed. The title is free and clear but there is a salvage notation on it. Because of that I had a BMW expert go over it before buying. He termed it a great bike. After buying it I took it to my local dealer and said to check it for safety and maintenance. He changed all the fluids but said it was a great bike and I should be very happy to have it. In short, if you let the mileage (it actually says 29,800 but the title says 129K) and the word "salvage" scare you that would be a mistake. It shifts and runs smoothly. Never any glitches at all. It has the added kickstand. The low handle bars give it more of a cafe racer look except it is comfortable. No tears in the saddle, paint is very good to excellent, tire tread to last several thousand miles. It has the integral saddle bags mounted on chrome bars. The are lockable and can be removed to carry like suitcases. Extremely handy. All lights work. Lenses all there and unbroken. No oil leaks. Starts first try. The transmission is number 25xxxxxx which is above the circlip-less transmissions. (I do not know what that means but was told that it would be of interest to potential buyers.) I am not a motorcycle expert. I've owned a few and enjoy riding. I am an expert on whether the bike feels strong. When I ride this bike I am reminded of what a BMW expert told me. "There is one problem with these bikes. You get tired of them way before they wear out." And that is my story. I'd like to try a Ducati gs 1000 but need to make room in my garage. I have listed a beginning price with no reserve. If I cannot get that for it, I am happy to keep it and appreciate the best bike I have ever had. I will deliver this bike withing 50 miles of Gainesville Florida or meet you 50 miles away. Otherwise you will have to arrange shipping or pickup. I will, of course, cooperate with the schedule you arrange.
