Vehicle Detail
It's time to sell my 88 Samurai tin top. Out of the hundreds of cars I've ever owned this is easily my favorite and I will be sorry to see her go. I purchased this car 2 years ago in OK shape and have spent the past couple years tidying up from the previous owner fixing various oil leaks and making small upgrades along the way. First the bad- The car has a leaky rear main seal. Not hemorrhaging oil but like a 25 year old vehicle you'll need to check the oil regularly. The car has a Grant steering wheel and the horn button shot off of it a long time ago. Horn still works but needs a new button. The car has no A/C. The heater core is still in tact with blower motor but the compressor, condensor and lines are gone. There are few Samurais that retain A/C anyways. Somebody installed a sunroof before I bought the car and it does not seal and is therefore bolted shut right now. The car has a Weber 36/36 outlaw carb and runs awesome but has a dead spot and needs somebody who knows how to tune carbs. I am an EFI guy and have little to no idea how to tune a carburetor. The good- The car has a Rocky Road SPOA suspension kit with the Rocky Road shocks and the over-the-top steering modification. It drives very nice, especially for a lifted vehicle. I daily drove the car for the better part of a year. It is on black Cragar steel wheels with all-terrain tires with 80% tread left. full size spare on the back door as well. Car comes with a farm jack and a tow bar front bumper for easy towing behind your truck or RV. The engine is equipped with a Weber 36/36 outlaw carb and sounds very throaty and aggressive. There is 4-1 header I have not installed that will come with the car as well. The body is in really good shape with the exception of a couple dings here and there. The t-case was rebuilt after a bearing started making a ton of noise, drivetrain is very smooth now. 4X4 works excellent. If you have any more questions contact Dave at 512 587 0189. I'm starting the car at $1 and I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time as the car is for sale locally.
