It had 1989 plates from the uncle who had driven it daily untill he died. It sat parked intill I purchased it. The motor wasn't stuck but my mechanic and I did a lot of work to get it up running, driving, and stopping. It now starts easily, drives, and stops well. The engine is quiet with no Knocks or smoke. It does sputter some at idle but does sound good when driving like only a flathead can with the new dual glass packs. We cleaned the carb but didn't overhaul it. A carb overhaul is probably needed. The clutch doesn't slip and the brakes stop well. The speedometer also works well but lights and gauges were bypassed because the wires look bad. We also didn't hook up the generator but the new 12 volt battery stays up fine for the 5 mile or so short runs that I have done. The steering box has a lot of play so 40 or so is the confortable speed though I've had it to 55 mph. I think it has a great look the way it is with patina but of course it would need restoration to be show. I welded it most of the rust spots and primed them with no bondo.The many pictures show the details. It has a new Kansas antique title and reads milage exempt exceds mechanical limits.
